The Grammy Awards, or simply known as the Grammys, are awards presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize "outstanding" achievements in the music industry. They are regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry worldwide. They were originally called the Gramophone Awards, as the trophy depicts a gilded gramophone. The Grammys are the first of the Big Three networks' major music awards held annually, and are considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards with the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, and the Tony Awards. The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4, 1959, to honor the musical accomplishments of performers for the year 1958. After the 2011 ceremony, the Recording Academy overhauled many Grammy Award categories for 2012. The upcoming 66th Annual Grammy Awards will feature a total of 94 categories.
Kohima is the capital of the Indian state of Nagaland. With a resident population of almost 100,000, it is the second largest city in the state. Kohima constitutes both a district and a municipality. Rev. Dr. Neiliezhü Üsou Memorial Award for Music is a prestigious music award given annually by the Rev. Dr. Neiliezhü Üsou Memorial Society and approved by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). The award is named after the late Rev. Dr. Neiliezhü Üsou for his tremendous contribution to the growth of music in Nagaland. It was instituted in 2009 and is an annual recognition given to the HSLC subject topper in Music under NBSE. This award carries a citation and cash money of ₹15,000. Cash money was revised to ₹25,000 in 2020.
Tetseo Sisters are a quartet of sisters from the Northeast Indian state of Nagaland. They are devoted to the art and tradition of the vocal folk music of the state and have been performing on stage since they were children.
The Premios Gardel a la Música, or just Premios Gardel, is an award presented by the Argentine Chamber of Phonograms and Videograms Producers (CAPIF) to recognize the best of Argentine music and to award the talent of Argentine artists in a diversity of genres and categories. Miss Nagaland is a state beauty pageant held annually since 1989 in the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. Kene or Naga wrestling is a folk wrestling style and traditional sport of the Nagas. It is closely related to Ssireum, the traditional national sport of Korea. The objective of the sport is to bring any part of the opponent's body above the knee to the ground.
