MOK Mursa Osijek is a Croatian men's volleyball club based in Osijek, Croatia. It was established in 2002.

Nogometni klub Osijek, commonly referred to as NK Osijek or simply Osijek, is a Croatian professional football club from Osijek. Robert Špehar is a Croatian football coach and a former international footballer who played as a striker. During his 18 years long senior career he played for Croatian Prva HNL teams NK Zagreb and NK Osijek in three occasions. In Belgium he played for Club Brugge with whom he won Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup. He also played for AS Monaco reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, Verona, Sporting, Galatasaray, Standard Liège, before ending his career at Omonia with Cypriot Cup title. At international level he represented Croatia gaining 8 caps over a five-year period, between 1992–1996 and was a member of their 1996 King Hassan II International Cup Tournament winning squad. He is the father of a footballer Dino Špehar who just like him started his professional career at NK Osijek, at the same time that Robert was in office as club's president. Robert's father and Dino's grandfather was a well-known football goalkeeper of NK Osijek in the 1960s. Most recently he coached Croatian lower-league side NK Višnjevac with whom he achieved promotion to Treća HNL division East.
Gradski vrt Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Osijek, Croatia. It is located in the Gradski vrt neighbourhood in Novi grad city district. With a capacity of 17,061, it has been the home ground of two Croatian football clubs, NK Osijek and Fortuna VNO Osijek.
The Battle of Mursa was fought on 28 September 351 between the eastern Roman armies led by the Emperor Constantius II and the western forces supporting the usurper Magnentius. It took place at Mursa, near the Via Militaris in the province of Pannonia. The battle, one of the bloodiest in Roman history, was a pyrrhic victory for Constantius.

The 1992 Croatian First Football League was the first season of the top Croatian football league. It was the inaugural season of the league established following Croatia's independence from Yugoslavia. Affected by the political and social upheavals stemming from the breakup of Yugoslavia and the early stages of the 1991–95 war, the season was drastically shortened and played over the course of less than four months, from 29 February to 13 June.

Gradski vrt Hall is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Osijek, Croatia. The complex is used mostly for handball and basketball matches. The complex has 7 main halls, two of them with spectator seats, bigger one capacity of 3,538 and a smaller one 1,770, there are two more smaller halls for fighting sports training. The complex also contains the biggest indoor track and field compound in Croatia. It was also used as one of the venues during the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. In 2017 the venue hosted the 2017 Davis Cup World Group first round between Croatia and Spain.

Aquaviva or Aqua Viva was an ancient Roman settlement in Pannonia, the crossroads that had connected Poetovio in the west with Mursa (Osijek) to the east and Siscia (Sisak) to the south. Its precise location is unknown; it is speculated that it's located in Petrijanec near Varaždin. Earlier sources placed it somewhere between Maruševec and Sveti Juraj.
