MTV Ao Vivo is the first live album released by Brazilian band Nando Reis e os Infernais.
"Mantra" was featured on soundtrack of Rede Globo's telenovela Começar de Novo . It was written by Reis and Arnaldo Antunes and it was developed upon the sketch of a song he wrote under Paula Lavigne's request for a song to Ricky Martin at the time Reis was with Titãs recording Volume Dois . [1]
According to Reis, many radio stations controlled by protestants refused to air the song due to it promoting a different religion, which disappointed him and which he considered censorship. [1]
Reis proposed inviting Hare Krishnas to perform in the song during a meeting with MTV and label Universal Music Group, but a few days before the trip to Porto Alegre, where the album was recorded, the label announced they wouldn't pay for the group's trip. Reis then decided to use his own money and bought some bus tickets for them. Following the song's first performance, which he says was well-received by the audience, Universal's executives congratulated him and the song was later chosen as the album's single. [1]
"Por Onde Andei" was written after Reis was robbed in São Paulo. Before taking off with his car, one of the criminals rolled down the window, pointed a gun to him and yelled: "bum! bum!". Reis thought the criminal would really shoot and kill him and many thoughts passed through his mind. [2]
The verse "e a falta é a morte da esperança" ("absence is the death of hope"), according to Reis, is wrong; the original verse said "e a morte é a falta da esperança" ("death is the absence of hope"), but he sang it wrong during the song's performance and this version became official. [2]
The track was co-written by Paulo Monteiro and performed by Reis's first band, Os Camarões, formed to perform at a music festival at Colégio Santa Cruz in 1979, in which they were winners. [3]
This track had already been released by Jota Quest on their MTV ao Vivo album. It was written by Reis in Taos, United States, where he was recording overdubs for his then future album A Letra A with producer and drummer Barrett Martin. Martin was dating a native American from a nearby pueblo. One night, Reis took part in a shamanic ritual and, soon after, he had a seat by Martin's fireplace and quickly wrote the song which, according to him, became his possibly greatest hit. [4]

Titãs are a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. Though they basically play pop/alternative rock, their music has touched a number of other styles throughout their 30-year career, such as new wave, punk rock, grunge, MPB and electronic music.
Acústico MTV is the second live album released by Brazilian rock band Titãs. It's part of the MTV Unplugged series and resulted in a tour, a CD, a DVD and a TV special broadcast by MTV on 22 May from that year.

Nando Reis is a Brazilian musician and producer, best known as the former bassist and one of the lead singers of Brazilian rock band Titãs and for his successful solo career, with his own band called Os Infernais. He has also produced a few albums, including some related to Cássia Eller, who has made several significant partnerships with him, and Marisa Monte. In 2012, Nando Reis was listed among the top ten Brazilian artists at the ECAD list of artists who earned the most from copyright in the first semester of that year. In 2016, he was at the 15th position, besides being 6th in the ranking of earnings from live performances and topped the ranking of earnings from music played in public places.
Nando Reis & Os Infernais is a Brazilian rock band founded by Nando Reis. It is the band that plays with him in studio and during live performances for his solo albums. From MTV Ao Vivo on, all albums by Nando Reis started being credited to both him and the band. Around the time of Sim e Não's release, he explained the change: "[...] I write songs and we decide the arrangements as a team. It was a gradual perception [the name change from Nando Reis to Nando Reis e os Infernais], when I realized that I liked to be seen as an artist who had a conversation with the band rather than as an artist backed by a band."
12 de Janeiro is the first solo album released by Brazilian musician Nando Reis. The track "E.T.C" was later recorded live by Cássia Eller on her Acústico MTV album, and became a big hit. Until November 1995, it had sold 25,000 copies, a disappointment for Reis, who considered that the label was to blame because "some songs performed well on the radio, but there were no CDs at the stores". By August 1997, it had reached the 27,300 mark.

Infernal...But there is Still a Full Moon Shining Over Jalalabad or simply Infernal is the third solo album released by Brazilian musician Nando Reis. Most of the songs featured on this album were recorded by other artists or on other Reis albums. "E.C.T." and "O Segundo Sol" were performed live by Cássia Eller on her Acústico MTV album. "Eu e Ela", "Sua Impossível Chance", "Marvin" and "Cegos do Castelo" were recorded by Titãs when Nando Reis was still a member. A Letra A(The Letter A) is the fourth solo album released by Brazilian musician Nando Reis, and the first one after his departure from Titãs, where he sang and played the bass guitar. "Mesmo Sozinho" was previously recorded by Nando with Titãs on the album A Melhor Banda de Todos os Tempos da Última Semana, the last to feature him, and "Luz dos Olhos" was recorded live by Cássia Eller on her Acústico MTV album.
Sim e Não is the fifth album released by Brazilian band Nando Reis e os Infernais. It marks the first time Reis did not write songs under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. He commented that "It wans't easy. I have always been seen as an artist connected to drugs and alcohol and that wasn't for nothing. I had this as a stimulant for my creative process. For a while, it had its benefits. But, with all that dependence and addiction, it started to be bad."
