MUN Society Belgium (MSB) is an inter-university organisation dedicated to training Belgian students to take part in Model United Nations conferences domestically and around the world. Founded in 2006, they are noted for their success internationally, as well as being host team for WorldMUN 2014.

History

After participating in the Catalonia Model of United Nations in 2006, six students from various universities across Belgium founded MUN Society Belgium. [1]

MSB have won many accolades, including winning Best Large Delegation at Harvard WorldMUN a record ten times (most recently in 2024). In 2011, MUN Society Belgium were ranked as the best international delegation, according to the Best College Model UN rankings. [2]

In March 2014, Harvard WorldMUN was hosted in the Belgian city of Brussels, with the organisation named as host team

WorldMUN moves to a new city each year and is regarded as one of the most prestigious international MUN conferences today. The Conference was first held in 1992. The Conference targets college students from all over the world who have a passion and interest to become a diplomat in the future.

WE Model United Nations Expo (WEMUN Expo) was established in 2007 and was one of the first high-school Model United Nations conferences in China. It has become international with delegates from around 30 different countries and with over 1500 delegates, and has now grown to become the largest Model UN conference in Asia. The conference takes place at the Grand Epoch City Hotel in the outskirts of Beijing annually at the beginning of August. The Asia Pacific Model United Nations Conference (AMUNC) is an annual travelling model United Nations conference for university students. Each conference is hosted in a different city within the Asia-Pacific region, attracting approximately 600 students from Asia, the Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand, making it one of the largest regional model UN conferences in the world. AMUNC is run entirely by student volunteers, usually coordinated through a relevant student association who has been licensed with the right to host AMUNC by Asia-Pacific MUN Conference Limited, with the support and backing of the host university. Model United Nations is a popular extracurricular activity for middle school, high school, and college students in the United States. The U.S. was where Model UN originated and was popularized, and is also where many of the world's most respected conferences are held. The U.S. has several regional centers of Model UN, each with its own distinct style.

Geneva International Model United Nations is an entirely student-run Non Governmental Organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations since 2007. GIMUN is based in Geneva, Switzerland. It was created in 1999 by students of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Its aim is to promote the ideals and principles of the United Nations by giving students a chance to participate in educative events.

The Paris International Model United Nations (PIMUN) is an annual model United Nations (MUN) conference taking place in Paris, France. It is run by the students of 11 Parisian universities belonging to the Paris Intercollegiate United Nations Committee (CINUP). While PIMUN organizers indicate that it was formed in 2011, some evidence links its foundation to 2008, making it the oldest MUN conference in France. The participants of the conference are university students looking to debate and negotiate about international affairs and diplomacy.

Promotora Internacional de Debates - Perú is a non-profit civil association dedicated to the promotion of debate and academic competences as educational tools, as well as to encourage the development of soft skills in students and professionals.
