Maartje Ruikes (born 27 June 1996) is a retired Dutch artistic gymnast. [2]
Ruikes competed at the 2014 GBR-NED International Friendly where she tied for the all-around gold medal with Jin Yi Hoekstra and won the bronze medal on the balance beam behind Lieke Wevers and Ruby Harrold. [3] At the 2014 Dutch Championships, she won the silver medal in the all-around behind Lisa Top. [4] At the Rencontre Internationale, the Dutch team won over France and Austria, and Ruikes won the gold medal on the vault. [5] She was then selected to compete at the 2014 World Championships alongside Lisa Top, Lieke Wevers, Céline van Gerner, Vera van Pol, and Sanne Wevers, and the team finished 10th in the qualification round. [6] Ruikes had her balance beam mount named after her at the World Championships as she was the first one to perform it at a major international competition. [7]
Ruikes competed at the 2015 Flanders International Team Challenge where the Dutch team finished 7th. [8] She also competed at the Netherlands-Great Britain Friendly where the Dutch team finished 2nd, and individually, Ruikes finished 10th in the all-around. [9]
At the 2016 Sidijk Tournament, Ruikes won the silver medal on the uneven bars behind Lisa Top, [10] but on the floor exercise, she tore her Achilles tendon- taking her out of contention for the 2016 Olympic team. [1] After over one year of rehab and two surgeries, Ruikes decided to retire. [1] [11]
Sanne Wevers is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic champion on the balance beam and was the first Dutch female gymnast to become an Olympic champion in an individual event. She is the 2018 and 2023 European champion on the balance beam. She is also the 2015 World and 2021 European silver medalist on the balance beam and the 2015 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. She was a member of the Dutch team that won the bronze medal at the 2018 and 2023 European Championships.
Lieke Wevers is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She was the first Dutch woman to win a European title in gymnastics: at the 2015 European Games, she won the gold medal on the balance beam and was the bronze medalist with the Dutch team, in the individual all-around, and on floor exercise. She competed at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympics, qualifying for the all-around finals in 2020.
Eythora Elisabet Thorsdottir is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she finished ninth in the individual all-around. At the 2017 European Championships, she won a silver medal on balance beam and a bronze medal on floor exercise. She is also the 2019 European floor exercise silver medalist and the 2023 European bronze medalist with the Dutch team.
Tisha Manouk Gijs Volleman is a Dutch artistic gymnast and a member of the national team. She won a bronze medal with the Dutch team at the 2018 European Championships. She represented the Netherlands at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Nina Derwael is a Belgian artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion, and a two-time European champion on the uneven bars. She is the 2019 European Games champion on the balance beam, as well as a two-time Belgian national all-around champion.
Vera Dorothea Wilhelmina van Pol is a Dutch artistic gymnast. She represented the Netherlands at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She won a bronze medal with the Dutch team at the 2018 European Championships. She is the 2015 and 2018 Dutch all-around champion. She competed at the 2013, 2014, 2018, and 2021 World Championships.
Camille Bahl is a French artistic gymnast and former gymnast of the french national team. She represented France at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and the 2015 European Championships.
Coline Devillard is a French artistic gymnast. Devillard is the 2022 World bronze medalist, the 2017, 2023, 2024 European champion and the 2019 European silver medalist on vault. She is the first and only French female gymnast to win the European title on vault. Additionally she was part of the French teams that won silver at the 2018 European Championships and bronze at the 2023 World Championships. She competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
