Zamboanga Sibugay, officially the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay, is a province in the Philippines located in the Zamboanga Peninsula region in Mindanao. Its capital is Ipil and it borders Zamboanga del Norte to the north, Zamboanga del Sur to the east and Zamboanga City to the southwest. To the south lies Sibuguey Bay in the Moro Gulf.

Zamboanga Sibugay's 1st congressional district is one of the two congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay. It has been represented in the House of Representatives since 2007. It was created after the 2006 reapportionment that divided the province into two congressional districts. Guicam Bridge is a 1.2 km (0.75 mi) concrete girder bridge being planned for construction between the towns of Alicia and Mabuhay in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. The bridge will connect Olutanga Island and its three municipalities of Mabuhay, Talusan, and Olutanga with the rest of Mindanao Island, which are separated by the Canalizo Strait. Once completed, it will be the longest bridge in Mindanao until the completion of the 3.77 km (2.34 mi) Panguil Bay Bridge between Tangub, Misamis Occidental and Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Local elections will be held in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay of the Philippines, on May 9, 2022 as part of the 2022 general election. Voters selected candidates for all local positions: a municipal and city mayor, vice mayor and councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the governor, vice governor and representatives for the two Districts of Zamboanga Sibugay.
