Macario De Souza (born 14 June 1983) is an Australian filmmaker.
Macario is the youngest of the three children of Macario Snr and Maria De Souza, who immigrated from Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the mid-1970s and settled in Sydney, Australia. His parents provided a traditional Brazilian influence in Macario's and his two sisters, Glenda and Ingrid's lives growing up. After attending Matraville public primary school, Macario went on to complete his HSC at South Sydney High School, graduating as school captain.
During his time at high school, De Souza explored music and film projects. "I was always in and out of punk rock bands in school but it wasn't until the Bra Boys film that I got the chance to professionally record my music". De Souza was in the minority of his circle of friends, as he applied for and was accepted into university. "Maroubra is a party town. It is very easy to fall in that trap. I put in the hard yards at a crucial period through my teens. While everyone else was on the drink and on benders every weekend, I was putting in the work.”
Macario went on to study film and music production in a bachelor of fine arts degree, majoring in time-based art at UNSW Art & Design.
Since graduating university, De Souza has produced two short films, Ours and The Hard Way, the feature-length documentary Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than Water , two eight-episode seasons of the reality television show Football Superstar for Foxtel, and a six-part documentary called South Side Story featuring Russell Crowe and the battle for the Rabbitohs football club.
Macario's first feature film, Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than Water , was shot locally in and around Maroubra and edited in his family's apartment near Maroubra beach. It is presented as a documentary encompassing the lifestyle and ideals of the "Bra Boys" brotherhood. It portrays members of the Bra Boys reflecting on both the benefits and difficulties of growing up in Maroubra. Narrated by actor Russell Crowe, Bra Boys features three of Macario's original compositions in the soundtrack, which were written and recorded for the film.[ citation needed ]
In 2011 De Souza completed shooting his second feature-length film, Fighting Fear . The film features his two best friends and fellow Bra Boy members that he grew up with, big wave surfer Mark Matthews and Mixed Martial Arts champion Richie Vaculik. De Souza describes the film as "a story of friendship and redemption". [1]
After Bra Boys, De Souza began building his brand, marketing himself with his music under the name of Kid Mac. He has collaborated musically and toured with these Australian and international recording artists:[ citation needed ]
De Souza remains an ambassador for the education of youth about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.[ citation needed ] In September 2011, De Souza, Vaculik and Mathews featured on the ABC'S show Australian Story. [2] The episode depicted the three friends recounting their experiences with alcohol-related incidents as teenagers and the lifelong consequences that can ensue from that pattern of behaviour. In February, De Souza became an ambassador for Feb Fast 2012, an organisation that raises money for alcohol problem awareness.
De Souza released his first CD in April 2012.[ citation needed ]

Russell Ira Crowe is an actor, film producer, director and musician. Although a New Zealand citizen, he has lived most of his life in Australia. He came to international attention for his role as the Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the epic historical film Gladiator (2000), directed by Ridley Scott, for which Crowe won an Academy Award, a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, an Empire Award, and a London Film Critics Circle Award for Best Leading Actor, along with ten other nominations in the same category. Andreas Vollenweider is a Swiss harpist. He is generally categorised as a new-age musician and uses a modified electroacoustic harp of his own design. He has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Carly Simon, Luciano Pavarotti and in 1987 received a Grammy Award for the album Down to the Moon. Outside Providence is a 1999 American stoner comedy film adaptation of Peter Farrelly's 1988 novel of the same name. The film was directed by Michael Corrente, and it was written by Corrente and the brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly. He rose to local prominence in 2006, when he was found guilty of perverting the course of justice in an incident surrounding his brother, Jai Abberton, who was charged but found not guilty of the 2003 murder of stand-over man, Anthony 'Tony' Hines. Together with his brothers, Abberton achieved national and international attention in 2007 with the release of a feature-length documentary entitled Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than Water, written and directed by members of the Bra Boys. In November 2008, Koby Abberton was jailed for three days by a US court after being found guilty of assaulting an off-duty police officer in a fight outside a nightclub in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jai Abberton, an Australian former professional surfer, is a member of the Australian surf group, the Bra Boys. He rose to local prominence in 2005, when he was charged but found not guilty of the 2003 murder of stand-over man, Anthony 'Tony' Hines. Despite Abberton admitting to shooting Hines, Abberton claimed that he had no choice as Hines was going to rape the girlfriend of Abberton, and kill them both. Abberton's defence was able to establish reasonable doubt of murder and that Hines was a violent man that employed standover tactics and was a rapist. It was alleged that the motivation for Hines' actions was a mistaken belief that Abberton had slept with Hines' wife, Rachel Gibbons.

Terence Lewis is an Indian dancer and choreographer, specializing in contemporary dance. He is known as a choreographer and judge in reality dance series Dance India Dance season 1, 2 & 3 (2009–2012) He runs his 'Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company' in Mumbai, holds dance workshops both in India and abroad. Terence Lewis also got Staar Parivaar Award for Favourite Judge. He also choreographed Disney India's first theatre production Beauty and the Beast. Presently he is one of the judges of India's Best Dancer. He recently came up with his first music video "Tenu Meri Umar Lag Jaave" by Rahul Jain.

Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker than Water is a 2007 Australian Documentary film about a surf gang on Sydney's Maroubra Beach released in March 2007. The film details a story of the Bra Boys from the viewpoint of the gang members, particularly the Abbertons. Sunny Abberton wrote and co-directed the film with Macario De Souza. Actor Russell Crowe was producer and provided narration. The film's official cast included 49 well known surfers from Bra Boys members Evan Faulks and Richie 'Vas' Vaculik to ten-time world champion Kelly Slater. Other participating prominent surfers include Mark Occhilupo, Bruce Irons, and Laird Hamilton.
