Maciej Biega (born 7 February 1989) is a Polish speed skater. He was born in Sanok. He competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, in men's 500 metres. [1]
Eric Arthur Heiden is an American physician and a former long track speed skater, road cyclist and track cyclist. He won an unprecedented five individual gold medals, and set four Olympic records and one world record at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Heiden was the most successful athlete at those Olympic Games, single-handedly winning more gold medals than all nations except for the Soviet Union (10) and East Germany (9). He is the most successful Winter Olympian from a single edition of any Winter Olympics. He delivered the Athlete's Oath at those same 1980 Games. His coach was Dianne Holum.
Sven Kramer is a retired Dutch long track speed skater who has won an all-time record nine World Allround Championships as well as a record ten European Allround Championships. He is the Olympic champion of the 5000 meters at the Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics, and won a record 21 gold medals at the World Single Distance Championships; eight in the 5000 meters, five in the 10,000 meters, and eight in the team pursuit. Kramer used to be the world record holder in the team pursuit and broke the world records in the 5000 meter and 10,000 meter events three times. By winning the 2010 World Allround Championship, Kramer became the first speed skater in history to win four consecutive world allround championships and eight consecutive international all round championships. He was undefeated in the 18 international allround championships he participated in from the 2006/2007 season until the 2016/2017 season. From November 2007 to March 2009, he was ranked first in the Adelskalender, but despite his dominance as an all-round skater he has since been overtaken on that list by Shani Davis and, more recently, by his teammate Patrick Roest and Jordan Stolz.
Enrico Fabris is an Italian former long track speed skater who has won three World Cup races and became the first European Allround Champion from Italy when he won the 2006 European Championships one month before the Winter Olympics in Turin. In 2007 he won also the silver medal and in 2008 the bronze medal. Fabris is also a six-time Italian Allround Champion.
The men's 500 metres speed skating competition for the 2006 Winter Olympics was held in Turin, Italy. The competition consisted of two separate 500 metre races, with the competitors ranked by their cumulative time from the two races.
Maciej "Maciek" Kuś is a Polish former competitive figure skater. He is the 2004–05 Polish national champion, and competed once at the European Figure Skating Championships, where he placed 27th. He competed twice at the World Figure Skating Championships, placing 31st in 2003 and 34th in 2005. He was 23rd at the 2002 Junior Worlds and placed 16th at the 2005 Winter Universiade.
Maciej Cieplucha is a Polish former competitive figure skater. He is the 2011 Finlandia Trophy bronze medalist, a two-time Warsaw Cup bronze medalist, and a three-time Polish national champion. He has qualified three times for the free skate at the European Championships—in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Maciej Bernadowski is a Polish ice dancer. His former partners include Milena Szymczyk, Natalia Sinkiewicz, and Anastasia Gavrylovych. He and Szymczyk were coached by his mother, Bożena Bernadowska, in their hometown Łódź. Bernadowski currently skates with Alexandra Zvorigina, with whom he is a three-time (2011–2013) Polish national champion.
Ted-Jan Bloemen is a Dutch-Canadian long track speed skater. He started competing for the Canadian national speed skating team during the 2014–15 season, but before that, he competed for the Netherlands in international competitions. Bloemen primarily competes in long-distance events as well as team pursuit events. He is a former world record holder for the 5,000 m (6:01.86), set in Salt Lake City, and was the Olympic record holder for the 10,000 m (12:39.77), set when he won gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Bloemen also won a silver medal in the 5,000 m at the Pyeongchang Olympics, the first Canadian man to medal in the distance since 1932. He has won a silver in 10,000 m and one bronze and silver in the team pursuit at the World Speed Skating Championships.
Haralds Silovs is a Latvian long track and former short track speed skater, who became the 2008 and 2011 European champion in short track. He has participated in three Winter Olympics. In 2018, he finished fourth at speed skating 1500 metres event.
Maciej Ustynowicz is a Polish speedskater. He competed for Poland at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
Bart Swings is a Belgian long track speed skater and inline speed skater. He is the 2022 Olympic champion on the speed skating mass start. Swings won Belgium's first gold medal in 74 years and is the first Belgian athlete ever to have won two medals in the Winter Olympics. In 2023 he won the Belgian National Sports Merit Award, the highest trophy for a sportsperson or team in Belgium.

Alex Biega is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Biega was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the 5th round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and played the majority of his career with the Vancouver Canucks.
Jacob Jorrit Bergsma is a Dutch speed skater and marathon skater. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 10,000 m. His coach is Jillert Anema.
Alexandra Zvorigina is a Russian-born former competitive ice dancer who competed for Poland with partner Maciej Bernadowski. Together, they are three-time (2011–2013) Polish national champions.
Danny Biega is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Hurricanes in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. His brother, Alex Biega, has played 250 games in the NHL. He is under contract to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
