Commonly referred to as simply AAA, the promotion was founded in 1992 when Antonio Peña broke away from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to set up a promotion, which allowed him more creative freedom. AAA has held a number of pay-per-views (PPV) over the years and has promoted shows not just in Mexico but in the United States and Japan as well.

Adolfo Margarito Tapia Ibarra is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, who currently performs as L. A. He is best known throughout the world as La Parka, especially from his many years in the American World Championship Wrestling promotion. He has worked for every major and multiple minor wrestling promotion in Mexico, as well as participating on multiple wrestling tours in Japan. He is a three-time world heavyweight champion, having held the IWC World Heavyweight, IWC World Hardcore, and IWL World Heavyweight championships all once. He is also a two-time world tag team champion, having held the MLW World Tag Team Championship and the CMLL World Tag Team Championship each once.

Octavio López Arreola is a Mexican professional wrestler who is best known under the ring name Cibernético and for working for the Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) promotion in Mexico. During AAA's short partnership with the World Wrestling Federation, he participated in the 1997 Royal Rumble and wrestled on Raw is War and WWF Shotgun Saturday Night, often teaming with Pierroth Jr. He is a former AAA Mega Champion as well as a former three time Campeón de Campeones, the predecessor to the AAA world championship.

Known officially in Spanish as the Mega Campeonato AAA, it is sometimes referred to in the English-language press as the "AAA World Heavyweight Championship". The title is the top championship of the AAA promotion. The current champion is El Hijo del Vikingo.
Jesús Cristóbal Martínez Rodriguez is a Mexican luchador who is best known as El Zorro. His gimmick started out very similar to the fictional character Zorro complete with mask, but in recent years it has evolved and the mask has been eliminated. He is best known for his work in the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion in Mexico, where he is a former AAA Mega Champion. He has in the past worked both in Europe, Japan and made a few brief appearances for the World Wrestling Federation show WWF Super Astros. He was the "Deputy leader" of the La Legión Extranjera faction headed by Konnan. In December 2012, Martínez was repackaged as La Parka Negra, the storyline nemesis of La Parka. He returned as El Zorro in October 2013, before departing the company in February 2017.
Kevin Citlali Zamora is a Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler, better known under his ring name Chessman. He currently performs and works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Throughout his career, Chessman has been a part of several factions, such as The Black Family, Lucha Libre Latina (LLL), La Secta Cibernetica, La Secta del Mesías and Los Hell Brothers. Chessman has been associated with Cibernético and Charly Manson in one way or the other throughout most of his career, either teaming with them or wrestling against them.
Triplemanía XVII was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on June 13, 2009 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the year an event was held under the Triplemanía chronology. Triplemanía XVII was the third Triplemanía event to take place in Mexico City, and the second to take place in Palacio de los Deportes, site of the previous Triplemanía XVI as well. The show drew close to 16.000 spectators, down from the previous years 19.000 spectators in the same venue. The Triplemanía set reduced the capacity of the arena compared to the previous year but it was not a complete sell out.
José de Jesús Álvarez Gutierrez is a Mexican professional wrestler, better known by his ringname Joe Líder. He currently competes in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). He is known for being a former member of the tag team La Hermandad Extrema with Nicho el Millonario who, like himself, is one of several wrestlers to emerge from the independent circuit during the 1990s. Álvarez is also the real-life brother of Demoledor and had faced him on several occasions during his career, most notably, defeating him in their hometown in a "hair vs. hair" match at the Arena Victoria in January 2005.
The AAA World Cruiserweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested for in the Mexican lucha libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The championship cannot be competed for by anyone who is over the Cruiserweight division weight limit of 105 kg (231 lb). Traditionally this division is labelled as the "Junior Heavyweight" division in Mexico while "Cruiserweight" is a term more used in the United States or Canada.
Gerardo Campos Poza, better known under his ring name Último Gladiador is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. From 2014 to 2018, Campos worked for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide under the ring name Demon Rocker as a part of the group Los Inferno Rockers. Campos has previously wrestled under the name El Potro as well as being the first wrestler to play the masked Mega character for International Wrestling Revolution Group.
Psycho Clown is the ring name of a Mexican luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Psycho Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from wrestling fans. Part of the Alvarado wrestling family, he is the son of José Alvarado Nieves, who wrestled under the ring name Brazo de Plata, and has previously worked as Brazo de Plata Jr. in tribute to his father. His siblings, Máximo, Goya Kong, Andros de Plata, and Muñeca de Plata are also professional wrestlers
La Sociedad was a Mexican lucha libre, or professional wrestling stable, that worked for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). The group was originally formed in the summer of 2010 with the merger of La Legión Extranjera, Los Perros del Mal, La Milicia and Los Maniacos.
Verano de Escándalo (2011) was a major professional wrestling event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on July 31, 2011, at the Plaza Nuevo Progreso in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The title of the event, which has been AAA's annual summer show since 1997, is Spanish for "Summer of Scandal". The event featured seven matches with the main event featuring Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus facing each other in a Hair vs. Mask Lucha de Apuestas steel cage match, continuing the storyline rivalry, which started in October 2010. The event also featured Jeff Jarrett defending the AAA Mega Championship against Dr. Wagner Jr. and L.A. Park. The event took place only six weeks and four television tapings after Triplemanía XIX, an abnormally short amount of time between two major AAA events; for example there would be ten weeks between Verano de Escándalo and the following major event, Héroes Inmortales. Subsequently, AAA made the decision not to make the event a pay-per-view.
Héroes Inmortales (2011) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on October 9, 2011, at Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the death of AAA founder Antonio Peña. While the two previous Peña memorial shows were labeled with the Roman numerals III and IV, the 2011 event was simply known as Héroes Inmortales. The main attraction of the event was the Mexican debut of Sting, who took part in the ongoing storyline invasion of wrestlers from American promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). TNA performers Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Magnus and Velvet Sky also took part in the event. Other matches taking place at the event included the fifth annual Copa Antonio Peña, Dr. Wagner Jr. defending the AAA Latin American Championship against El Hijo del Perro Aguayo and the culmination of the yearlong rivalry between Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus in a Lucha de Apuestas Masks vs. Hairs match, at the end of which one team would be either forced to unmask or have their heads shaved.

Also, the event was the 25th year in a row that AAA had held a Triplemanía show, and the 31st show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest show of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines and feature wrestlers from all over the world competing in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event.
