Magellan Development Group, LLC is an American real estate and property development company that was formed in 1996 as a result of a long term corporate partnership between Joel Carlins and James Loewenberg.

The company's chief executive officer is David Carlins and J.R. Berger is a principal. The affiliates of bKL Architects, Joel M. Carlins & Associates, Magellan Marketing Group, Magellan Property Management, and Magellan Realty operate autonomously within the group structure.[ citation needed ]Since its inception in 1996, Magellan has developed 28 mostly mixed-use communities encompassing over 11,000 residential units, that in aggregate have generated over$6 billion in value.

The major accomplishment of their collaboration is the $4 billion, mixed-use Lakeshore East community which reintroduced residential living to Chicago's central business district. [1] The master plan was designed by Skidmore, Ownings, and Merrill; it consists of 28 acres (110,000 m2), 4,950 new residences, 2,200,000 square feet (200,000 m2) of commercial space, 1,500 hotel rooms, 770,000 square feet (72,000 m2) of retail space, a planned elementary school, and a 6-acre (24,000 m2) botanical park.[ citation needed ]

The company has created luxury rental and condominium communities such as Cascade, Millie on Michigan, Exhibit on Superior, Gallery on Wells, The Tides at Lakeshore East, The Shoreham at Lakeshore East, Grand Plaza, The Park Millennium, One Superior Place, and Dearborn Place. Condominium developments at Lakeshore East include the Aqua, Chicago, The St Regis Chicago, The Parkhomes, The Chandler, 340 on the Park, The Regatta, and The Lancaster. Other Lakeshore East developments include The Park at Lakeshore East and the Village Market retail center. Completed in 2022, The St Regis Chicago is Chicago's third tallest building. In addition to the Lakeshore East community, its portfolio includes buildings in Chicago's River North, Gold Coast, and Near West Side neighborhoods, such as The Park Alexandria, The Caravel, Admiral’s Pointe, The Farallon, 630 North State, 21 West Chestnut, The Park Newberry Residences.

In 2012, the company expanded outside of Chicago with LPM Apartments in Minneapolis, Nashville (The SoBro) and Miami (Midtown Five), GIO in Midtown Miami and Sienna in Austin with plans for additional developments in metro Boston. In addition, the two organizations that make up Magellan Development have independently developed hotels, retail, office and medical facilities throughout the United States.[ citation needed ]

Crain’s Chicago Business has named the company LLC one of Chicago’s top 5 "Largest Homebuilders" in 2007 in addition to naming Magellan as number 113 in the list of "Chicago’s Largest Privately Held Companies". [2] The company has been responsible for the creation of over 12,000 residential units in Chicago and is known for its philanthropic endeavors and unique Rewards program as well as its luxury properties.[ citation needed ]

Lakeshore East is a master-planned mixed use urban development being built by the Magellan Development Group in the Loop community area of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located in the northeastern part of the Loop, which, along with Illinois Center, is called the New Eastside. The development is bordered by Wacker Drive to the north, Columbus Drive to the west, Lake Shore Drive to the east, and East Randolph Street to the south. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill created the master plan for the area. The development, which had been scheduled for completion in 2011, was set for completion in 2013 by 2008. Development continued with revised plans for more buildings in 2018 and continuing construction of the Vista Tower in 2019.

Brickell City Centre is a large mixed-use complex consisting of two residential high-rise towers, two office buildings, a high-rise hotel, and an interconnected five-story shopping mall and lifestyle center covering 9 acres (36,000 m2) located in the Brickell district of Downtown Miami, Florida. Situated at the junction of Miami Avenue and Eighth Street, it spans up to five blocks to the west of Brickell Avenue and to the south of the Miami River. Contrary to the name, the development is not in the traditional downtown Miami city centre, but in the more recently redeveloped financial district of Brickell. The retail shopping and lifestyle center is operated by Simon Malls.

Louis Myerberg Dubin is a fourth-generation real estate developer who develops upscale condominiums, typically in large east-coast United States cities. He is a founding partner of Redbrick LMD, an opportunistic real estate investment and developments company headquartered in Washington, D.C. His former New York based firm Athena often sold condominiums to middle and upper-middle class buyers. His firm converted landmark buildings into luxury condominiums, one of which was bought by Charles Bronfman. He designed buildings to feature art by artist-sculptors such as Jonathan Cramer. He was described by New York Magazine as being one of the "new generation of uptown A-listers".

One Oasis is a Residential Complex development in Cotai, South of Macau and Hengqin Island of Zhuhai. The community facilities in the development encompass a clubhouse, a retail center, a 6-star hotel, and cultural and entertainment conventions. Phase 1 of One Oasis comprises five low-density residential towers providing 870 units. The construction of Phase 1 was scheduled to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2013. An array of flat mixes studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom units and, 4-bedroom en-suites are offered, ranging from approximately 600 sq ft (56 m2), to over 2,000 sq ft (190 m2). Special units contain duplexes and sky houses with a minimum area of 3,000 square feet.

The residential tower rises to 712 feet (217 m) with condominiums starting on the 36th floor, and is the 63rd tallest building in New York. Bridgetowne is a real estate development spanning the border of Pasig and Quezon City in Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is a mixed township and business park situated in a former industrial area on both banks of the Marikina River near the junction of Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. Avenue and Ortigas Avenue. The 30.61-hectare (75.6-acre) masterplanned community is the first integrated township project by Robinsons Land Corporation, the real estate arm of JG Summit. It is currently anchored by four office towers in its information technology park dedicated to the business process outsourcing sector, its second in Metro Manila after Robinsons Cybergate in Mandaluyong.
