Magnus Barfot Cinema Centre (Norwegian: Magnus Barfot Kino) is a cinema multiplex in Bergen, Norway. It is the main venue of Bergen International Film Festival. [1]
The cinema is owned by Bergen Kino AS. It was named after the street that runs along the building (however, it is not the address of the complex), which in turned was named after 11th-century Norwegian monarch Magnus Barefoot (1073–1103). The cinema complex, which opened to the public on October 1, 2004, has five cinemas over five floors with a total of 1,060 seats. The building was designed by the architectural firm Grieg Arkitekter. Edvard Hagerup Grieg was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. Bergen, historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. As of 2021, its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway after national capital Oslo. The municipality covers 465 square kilometres (180 sq mi) and is on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. Fana is a borough of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The borough makes up the southeastern part of the municipality of Bergen. The borough was once part of the historic municipality of Fana which was incorporated into Bergen in 1972. The old municipality was much larger than the present-day borough of Fana. It also included all of the present-day boroughs of Ytrebygda and Fyllingsdalen as well as the southern part of the present-day boroughs of Årstad. As of 1 January 2012, Fana had a population of 39,216.

The Grieg Academy is a disputed historical term used to refer to the higher education music programs in Bergen, Norway, as well as various collaborations across music institutions in Bergen. However, since 2016, due to mergers between several Norwegian institutions, the structure of Grieg Academy has changed and its remaining components are expected to be a doctoral research school and various research groups. Specifically, this is due to a merger between the University of Bergen’s Faculty of Humanities with the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, as well as a nearly simultaneous merger between Bergen University College and two other university colleges in western Norway: Stord/Haugesund University College and Sogn og Fjordane University College to become, in January 2017, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) The music programs across HVL briefly became the largest music department in western Norway in terms of the number of full time teachers, but this has rapidly changed due to an unofficial policy of not replacing retiring teachers.

It was located in Bergen, Norway. The education included the subject areas fine art, photography, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, visual communication, interior architecture and furniture design. The college had around 350 students.

Landås is a neighbourhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Landås is located by the western side of the Ulriken mountain massif, from southeast of Haukeland University Hospital to the neighborhood of Nattland almost 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) further south. It was the last part of the historic Årstad municipality to be urbanised, with the development of Landås taking place mainly after World War II. The Faculty of Education of Bergen University College is located in Landås. The Grieg Academy is the original name of the music department at this campus of Bergen University College, however the music school with a very similar name - "Grieg Academy-Institute" - is affiliated with the University of Bergen and located in downtown Bergen. The unique Landås Church is located in this neighborhood.

Strandgaten is a street in the city centre of Bergen, Norway, west of the bay of Vågen. It starts at Torgallmenningen and follows the eastern shore of the Nordnes peninsula to Tidemands gate, where it becomes Nordnesgaten. The easternmost quarter of Strandgaten is a regular two-way street, while it is an eastbound one-way street between Tollbodallmenningen and Holbergsallmenningen, and between Østre Murallmenningen and Torgallmenningen. Between Holbergsallmenningen and Østre Murallmenningen the street is pedestrianised. In total, Strandgaten is approximately 1.2 km long.
Kronstad is a neighbourhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the borough, south of the large Store Lungegårdsvannet bay, east of the neighborhood of Solheim, north of Minde, west of Landås, and west of Møllendal and Haukeland. The neighbourhood was named after the old Kronstad farm, which was formerly known as "Hunstad". After the vicar of Bergen Cathedral purchased the farm in 1705, the name was changed to "Cronstad" which later changed to Kronstad.
