Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally the title can be revoked for cheating.

Surya Sekhar Ganguly, is an Indian chess grandmaster. His peak ELO rating was 2676. Ganguly became an International Master at the age of 16 and a grandmaster at the age of 19.
FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE for outstanding performance. The highest such title is Grandmaster (GM). Titles generally require a combination of Elo rating and norms. Once awarded, titles are held for life except in cases of fraud or cheating. Open titles may be earned by all players, while women's titles are restricted to female players. Many strong female players hold both open and women's titles. FIDE also awards titles for arbiters, organizers and trainers. Titles for correspondence chess, chess problem composition and chess problem solving are no longer administered by FIDE.
Mariya Olehivna Muzychuk is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster and Women's World Chess Champion from April 2015 to March 2016. She is also a twice women's champion of Ukraine, World Team and European Team champion with Ukraine in 2013. Muzychuk has experienced multiple successes with Ukraine at the Women's Chess Olympiad winning gold in 2022, silver in 2018 and bronze in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
Viorel Iordăchescu is a chess grandmaster from the Republic of Moldova, member of the Olympic Team of the Republic of Moldova, FIDE Senior Trainer, commentator, the President of the National Chess Academy of Moldova, and politician. He was awarded the title of grandmaster by FIDE in 1999.

He is the 4th GrandMaster from Andhra Pradesh, part of the team that won India's first bronze medal in the 41st Chess Olympiad, Commonwealth gold medalist, Asian silver medalist, won the Indian Chess Championship in 2017, and Limca Book record holder. He has won 20 individual gold, 15 individual silver and 14 individual bronze medals in National as well as international tournaments.

The Pakistani Chess Championship is organized by the Chess Federation of Pakistan. Prior to 1970 four championships were held in West Pakistan without participation by players from East Pakistan. This changed in 1970 with the founding of the Pakistan National Chess Federation, which for the first time incorporated players and executive members from both parts of Pakistan, and the national championship that year was held in Chittagong. In 1977 the name of the organization was changed to the Chess Federation of Pakistan. The first Pakistani Women's Chess Championship was held in 2000.
Salem Abdulrahman Mohamed Saleh is an Emirati chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2009. Saleh competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2023.
Sunilduth Lyna Narayanan is an Indian chess player. He earned the title of Grandmaster in 2015 and is the 41st Grandmaster from India. As of April 2022, he is ranked No. 5 in India and No. 73 in the world, with a FIDE rating of 2662.
