The Prime Minister of Albania, officially styled the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, is the head of government of the Republic of Albania and as well the most powerful and influential person in Albanian politics. The Prime Minister holds the executive power of the nation and represents the Council of Ministers and chairs its meetings.
The Socialist Party of Albania, is a social-democratic political party in Albania; it gained power following the 2013 parliamentary election. The party seated 66 MPs in the 2009 Albanian parliament. It achieved power in 1997 following a political crisis and governmental realignment. At the 2001 parliamentary election the party secured 73 seats, which enabled it to form a government. At the general election of 3 July 2005, the Socialist Party lost its majority and the Democratic Party of Albania (PD) formed the new government, having secured, with its allies, a majority of 81 seats.
Peqin District' was one of the thirty-six districts of Albania that is now part of Elbasan County. It had a population of 31,004, and an area of 109 km². It is in the centre of the country, and its capital was Peqin.

Just after a year the cup was suspended as the Second World War started. It started again in 1948 as "Kupa e Republikes" and from 1991 as "Kupa e Shqipërisë". Today it is the second most important competition in Albania after Albanian Superliga. The winners of the Cup automatically earn the right to participate in the 1st qualifying round of Europa League. Runners-up do not earn any European participation.
Peqin is a town and municipality in Elbasan County, central Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Gjoçaj, Karinë, Pajovë, Peqin, Përparim and Shezë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Peqin. The total population is 26,136, in a total area of 197.79 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 6,353.
Klubi Sportiv Shkumbini is an Albanian football club based in the city of Peqin. The club's home ground is the Shkumbini Stadium and they currently compete in the Albanian Second Division.

Idhomen Jovan Kosturi, also known as Idhomeno Kosturi, was an Albanian politician, regent and once acting Prime Minister of Albania. He would become the second representative of Albanian Orthodox population to become head of the Albanian government, after Pandeli Evangjeli. Kosturi was also among the contributors to the first Albanian teachers' school, the Shkolla Normale e Elbasanit, a teacher training institution that was founded on 1 December 1909 in Elbasan.
