Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O., commonly shortened to Acid Mothers Temple or AMT, is a Japanese rock band, the core of which formed in 1995. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians and offshoot groups and collaborations, but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with only a few core members and frequent guest vocalists.

Some Bardo Pond album titles have been derived from the names of esoteric psychedelic substances. Their sound has been likened to Pink Floyd, Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine amongst others.
P.S.F. Records is a Japanese record label specialising in underground psychedelic and folk music, and free improvisation. The label was established in Tokyo by Hideo Ikeezumi (1949-2017) (生悦住英夫) with the philosophy "I only release to what I like, and I hope that some of these sounds will appeal to the more discerning listener". It is named after its first release, the 1984 High Rise record Psychedelic Speed Freaks. P.S.F. is linked to a Tokyo record store, Modern Music, and a Japanese-language underground music magazine called G-Modern.

VHF Records is an American record label, known for their extensive work with several major experimental artists. The label is based in the Washington, DC suburb of Fairfax, Va., and it initially focused on indie and experimental bands from that region. The label has since branched out to release innovative and offbeat music from around the world, although Northern Virginia artists are still prominently featured in the catalog. The label was founded by Bill Kellum in 1991, originally to release a single each by his own band, Rake, and that of his friends, Wingtip Sloat. After a handful of releases by both bands, Kellum acquired the US rights to the first releases by UK psychedelic group Flying Saucer Attack including the CD edition of their debut album. Following this, Kellum released an album by Matthew Bower's Skullflower, which in turn led to the release of an LP by Bower and Richard Youngs. Since then, Youngs has released a dozen collaborative albums on the label, including 6 with Simon Wickham-Smith, 3 with Alex Neilson, one from his progressive rock unit Ilk and one with Makoto Kawabata. Kawabata has also released 3 solo albums for the label. Other artists include Vibracathedral Orchestra, Roy Montgomery, Jack Rose, Pelt, and Stephen O'Malley's Æthenor. Matthew Bower released another 2 Skullflower albums on the label, one Total release and several more under his most recent solo alias, Sunroof!.

IAO Chant From The Melting Paraiso Underground Freak Out is an album by Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. released by Riot Season in 2012. The album contains one piece, divided into two approximately 20-minute-long parts, based on the Gong song Master Builder. This marks the second time Acid Mothers Temple have covered Master Builder, again retitled as OM Riff, having previously covered it on IAO Chant From The Cosmic Inferno.

The album contains one piece, nearly an hour long, based on the Gong song Master Builder.
