Indonesian slang vernacular, or Jakarta colloquial speech is a term that subsumes various urban vernacular and non-standard styles of expression used throughout Indonesia that are not necessarily mutually intelligible. Regional slang from the capital of Jakarta, based on Betawi language, is however heavily exposed and promoted in national media, and considered the de facto Indonesian slang. Despite its direct origins, Indonesian slang often differs quite significantly in both vocabulary and grammatical structure from the most standard form of Indonesia's national language. These expressions are neither standardized nor taught in any formal establishments, but rather function in daily discourse, usually in informal settings. Several dictionaries of bahasa gaul has been published. Indonesian speakers regularly mix several regional slangs in their conversations regardless of origin, but depending on the audience and the familiarity level with the listeners.

Lyodra Margareta Ginting, also known mononymously as Lyodra, is an Indonesian singer and actress. She was the winner of the A3 category at the 2017 Sanremo Junior children's international solo singing competition in Sanremo, Italy, and the winner of the tenth season of Indonesian Idol. In both competitions, Lyodra practiced the use of the whistle register, which is the highest range of the human voice. She was listed as the youngest Indonesian Idol champion at the age of 16 years and 256 days. She was awarded "Best Children Female Solo Artist" from the 20th Anugerah Musik Indonesia Awards, and "Best New Asian Artist in Indonesia" from the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Award. In addition, Lyodra was nominated for "Best Southeast Asian Act" at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Adyla Rafa Naura Ayu is an Indonesian actress and singer. Following her mother's career, Riafinola Ifani Sari, Naura Ayu became a child singer in 2014 with the release of her first studio album Dongeng which won the award for Best Children's Album in the Anugerah Musik Indonesia 2015. Naura Ayu is the first Indonesian child singer to win the Triple Platinum award thanks to her fourth album, Katakanlah Cinta which has sold 500 thousand CDs.
Heppy Rismanda Hendranata, better known by the stage name Happy Asmara is an Indonesian singer-songwriter, television personality, presenter, and businesswoman from Kediri, East Java. Based herself in Javanese music, her name gained wider public attention after the release of the second single of her own production titled "Tak Ikhlasno" which has gained immense popularity in the Java region, specifically East Java. In the year of the release of "Tak Ikhlasno", Happy through the record label released the recycled single "Dalan Liyane" which also gained great popularity and at least became a change in her career. In popular culture, "Tak Ikhlasno" and "Dalan Liyane" have been considered the beginnings of great recognition.
