Majda Koren (born 12 March 1960) is a Slovene children's writer and teacher. She also works with the youth programme section of Radiotelevizija Slovenija, the Slovenian national broadcaster. [1]

Koren was born in Ljubljana in 1960. She studied at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana and works as a primary school teacher in Spodnja Šiška. She is also editor and co-author of a website for young children (www.zupca.net), which is meant for the youngest web surfers. [2] Her book Eva in Kozel (Eva and the Goat) was included in the 2008 White Ravens Awards of the International Youth Library a list of 250 best newly published books for children. [3]

Rooster Bridge

The Rooster Bridge in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a footbridge crossing the Gradaščica River in the Trnovo District south of the downtown of Ljubljana. It stands between the Trnovo Bridge and the outflow of the Gradaščica into the Ljubljanica, and connects Gradaščica Street in the northern Krakovo neighbourhood to Eipper Street in the southern Trnovo neighbourhood. These are the oldest Ljubljana suburbs, known for their market gardens and cultural events.

Emil Korytko Polish political activist

Emil Antoni Korytko was a Polish political activist in the period of the Great Emigration, who was exiled to Ljubljana, Carniola and became an important ethnographer, philologist and translator there. His legacy are collections of Slovene folk songs and vivid descriptions of Carniolan folk customs. He significantly contributed to the mutual dialogue between Polish and Slovene authors and readers.

Sebastijan Pregelj Slovenian writer (born 1970)

Sebastijan Pregelj is a Slovenian writer. In the second half of the 1990s Sebastijan Pregelj (b.1970) called attention to himself with his collections of short stories. During the last ten years, he has undoubtedly proven his mastery of storytelling with his novels. Five of them earned him nominations for Best Novel of the Year Award. A wide variety of readers is drawn to his novels because of their broad and rich historical background, intertwined with legends as well as present-day reality that manage to combine the magical with the spiritual and the mystical. Koseze Pond, Martinek Pond or Lake Koseze is an artificial pond at the edge of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, between Šiška Hill to the west and the neighborhood of Mostec to the east. It is part of the Tivoli–Rožnik Hill–Šiška Hill Landscape Park and is named after the nearby Koseze neighborhood in Ljubljana's Šiška District.
