Journey to the West is a Hong Kong television series adapted from the 16th century novel of the same title. Starring Dicky Cheung, Kwong Wah, Wayne Lai and Evergreen Mak, the series was produced by TVB and was first broadcast on TVB Jade in Hong Kong in November 1996. A sequel, Journey to the West II, was broadcast in 1998, but the role of the Monkey King was played by Benny Chan instead, due to contract problems between Dicky Cheung and TVB. City Without Baseball is a 2008 Hong Kong drama film starring Ron Heung and other members of the Hong Kong National Baseball Team. It is directed by South African-born Hong Kong filmmaker Lawrence Ah Mon, about a city where baseball is almost unknown, and where the team plays to empty stadia. It explores several themes traditionally regarded as 'taboo' in Hong Kong society, in an unusually open, convention-defying way, and features full-frontal male nudity in several scenes. It is the first of seven such films by Scud. The six later films are: Permanent Residence in 2009, Amphetamine in 2010, Love Actually... Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is an upcoming animated comedy fantasy streaming television series, to be released on HBO Max. The series will consist of 10 episodes and serve as a prequel to the 1984 film Gremlins and its 1990 sequel The New Batch. Set in 1920s Shanghai, East China, Secrets of the Mogwai will tell the story of how 10-year-old Sam Wing met Gizmo, a young Mogwai. It will be written and executive produced by Tze Chun. Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Sam Register, and Brendan Hay also serve as executive producers. In February 2021, ahead of the series premiere, the series was renewed for a second season. The series will air on Cartoon Network as part of their upcoming ACME Night block.
