Synopsis

Mama K's Team 4 follows the story of "four superhero teenage girls, living in an alternate futuristic setting of Lusaka, Zambia. They are later recruited by a retired secret agent, to help save the world". [1]

Development

On April 16, 2019, it was announced that Netflix had given the production a series order for a first season. [2] [3] The series is created by Malenga Mulendema who is credited as an executive producer and writer. [4] [5] Production companies involved with the series were slated to consist of Triggerfish Animation Studios and CAKE. [2]

Triggerfish Animation Studios, or simply Triggerfish, is a computer animation film studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. The studio is best known for its animated feature films Adventures in Zambezia (2012), Khumba (2013), and the work they have done on television specials created for UK producers Magic Light Pictures. In 2016, Stick Man was awarded the Cristal for best TV production at the Annecy International Animation Festival. Karen Fukuhara American actress

Karen Fukuhara is an American actress of Japanese origin, best known for her roles as Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana in the 2016 superhero film Suicide Squad and as Kimiko Miyashiro in the Amazon Prime original series The Boys (2019–present). Fukuhara is also known for voicing the character Glimmer from the Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Kipo from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
