Having gone 12 games goalless, Dieng was able to score his first professional goal against the Charleston Battery in the 2–2 draw. His goal opened the scoring. [7] [8] He followed up with a goal against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, though Hartford would still end up losing the match 3–1. He nearly had a second goal, though it was saved by Eric Dick.
