Teresa Gaye Weatherspoon is an American professional basketball coach and former player. She played for the New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and served as the head basketball coach of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters. Weatherspoon was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. In 2011, she was voted in by fans as one of the Top 15 players in WNBA history. In 2016, Weatherspoon was chosen to the WNBA Top 20@20, a list of the league's best 20 players ever in celebration of the WNBA's twentieth anniversary.
Bruno Jean Cornil Metsu was a French footballer and football manager. During his senior playing career from 1973 to 1987, he played for seven different clubs in his native France. From 1988 until his death, he was the manager of a total of nine clubs in France and Persian Gulf region, the Guinea, Senegal, United Arab Emirates and Qatar national football teams. He was perhaps most famous for coaching Senegal to the quarter-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, including a surprise victory over defending champions France in the opening match of the tournament.
Senegal competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. The Senegalese Football Federation is the governing body of football in Senegal. It is based in the capital of Senegal, Dakar, and was founded in 1960. Currently the FSF oversees the professional leagues, run by the Ligue Sénégalaise de Football Professionnel (LSFP) and fully organises the national teams, youth, women's and amateur football and all football administration.
Babacar Gaye is a disgraced Senegalese Army General who was the former United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Prior to this appointment of 16 July 2014, he was the Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office for the Central African Republic (BINUCA).

Abdoulaye Seye was a Senegalese sprinter. He competed for France at the 1960 Olympics in the 100 m, 200 m and 4 × 100 m relay events and won a bronze medal in the 200 m. Although Senegal had received its independence from France two months ahead of the Olympics as part of the short-lived Mali Federation, in 1960 it still competed as part of France. Seye also won the 100 m gold medal at the 1959 Mediterranean Games.

The country's participation at the Games marked its Winter Olympics debut, although it had competed in the Summer Olympics since 1964. The delegation consisted of a single alpine skier, Lamine Guèye, who did not win any medals. Suvi Mikkonen is a Finnish taekwondo practitioner. Mikkonen is a Finnish national champion, three times the Nordic champion, and won the European University Championship in 2009. She has competed in the 2009 and 2011 World Championships and the 2008 European Championships. Currently, she is a member of the Finnish National Team and, when in Finland, trains in Helsinki. She lives permanently in Madrid and trains with her coach and partner, Jesus Ramal, the head Olympic coach for the Finnish National Team.
