Robert Albert Bloch was an American fiction writer, primarily of crime, psychological horror, fantasy, much of which has been dramatised for radio, cinema and television. He also wrote a relatively small amount of science fiction. Best known as the writer of Psycho (1959), the basis for the film of the same name by Alfred Hitchcock - and to which Bloch wrote two sequels - Psycho II (1982) - not related to the 1983 film sequel of the same name - and Psycho House (1990), Bloch's fondness for a pun is evident in the titles of such of his story collections as Tales in a Jugular Vein, Such Stuff as Screams Are Made Of and Out of the Mouths of Graves.

Miss Brasil Pageant is a beauty contest that has been held since 1954 between winners of the pageants in the states of Brazil. The winner of Miss Brazil competes in the Miss Universe. The Miss Brazil, and Brazil itself, are responsible for one of the most successful campaigns in history of Miss Universe, with two winners and several runners-up, finalists and semifinalists. It was considered one of the best organized and most successful beauty pageants during the 1950s and 1960s and is believed that much of the fame of the beauty of Brazilian women comes from this. Rede Manchete was a Brazilian television network that was founded in Rio de Janeiro on 5 June 1983 by the Ukrainian-Brazilian journalist and businessman Adolpho Bloch. The network remained on the air until 10 May 1999. It was part of Grupo Bloch, which published the magazine Manchete by Bloch Editores, its publishing division; the television network was named after the magazine.

Nintendo Gamer was a magazine published in the United Kingdom which mainly covered Nintendo video game consoles and software. It was the successor publication to N64 Magazine, later renamed NGC Magazine (1997–2006) and Super Play (1992–1996), continuing the unique style of those magazines. The publication was originally known as NGamer, with the first issue being released on 13 July 2006. From issue 71 onward, released on 5 January 2012, the magazine was renamed Nintendo Gamer and was significantly reformatted. On 30 August 2012, it was announced that issue 80 was to be the magazine's final issue.
Rede Tupi was a Brazilian television network free-to-air. Its parent broadcaster, located in São Paulo city, was the first TV station to operate in the country, being inaugurated on 18 September 1950 by journalist Assis Chateaubriand. He belonged to Diários Associados, one of the largest media conglomerates of the 20th century, owner of several newspapers, magazines and radio. The national network was formed in the 1970s, with members as co-brothers of the Diários Associados and affiliates. The generating stations were TV Tupi São Paulo and TV Tupi Rio de Janeiro. Due to a history of management problems, which resulted in a financial crisis, Tupi had part of its concessions revoked by the Government of Brazil in July 1980, extinguishing the network.

Grupo Bloch, also known as Empresas Bloch, is a Brazilian media conglomerate, founded by Ukrainian businessman Adolpho Bloch's family after their arrival in Rio de Janeiro in 1922, when they created Joseph Bloch & Filhos company. The company, which published pamphlets and other printed material, also started to print magazines. Thus, in 1953, the company launched Manchete magazine. With its successful launch, the publishing division of Bloch Editores was established.
Cícero Augusto Ribeiro Sandroni is a Brazilian journalist. He was born in the city of São Paulo, on February 26, 1935, the son of Ranieri Sandroni and Alzira Ribeiro Sandroni. He did his primary studies and part of junior high school in São Paulo. After his family moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1946, he completed his secondary studies there. He studied at the Faculty of Journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University and EBAP - Brazilian School of Public Administration, at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, where he was a fellow.
Affonso Arinos de Mello Franco (1930-2020) is a Brazilian diplomat and journalist. He was born in Belo Horizonte on November 11, 1930. His parents were Affonso Arinos de Mello Franco and Anna Guilhermina Pereira de Mello Franco.
Otacílio Costa d’Assunção Barros, better known as Ota, is a Brazilian journalist, cartoonist, comics artist and editor. He started his career in 1970 at Editora Brasil-América Limitada (EBAL), then the largest Brazilian comic book publishing house. He also published independent comics in the 1970s, such as the comic strip Os Birutas. In 1974, working at Vecchi publishing house, he became editor of the Brazilian edition of Mad magazine, a position he continued to hold in other publishing houses that published Mad: Record (1984–2000), Mythos (2000–2006) and Panini (2008). He left the magazine after the seventh edition of the Panini's version due to creative differences with Raphael Fernandes, who took care of the foreign material. Ota won the Troféu HQ Mix as best writer in 1995 and the Prêmio Angelo Agostini as "Master of the National Comics" in 2003.
