Barcelona is a city on the northeastern coast of Spain. It is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Catalonia, as well as the second-most populous municipality of Spain. With a population of 1.6 million within city limits, its urban area extends to numerous neighbouring municipalities within the province of Barcelona and is home to around 4.8 million people, making it the fifth most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, the Ruhr area, Madrid and Milan. It is one of the largest metropolises on the Mediterranean Sea, located on the coast between the mouths of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, bounded to the west by the Serra de Collserola mountain range.

His work includes novels, drama, biographies and translations. He was an honorary member of the Association of Writers in the Catalan Language. In 1948, he won the Premio Nadal.

Joan Busquets i Grau is a Spanish architect, urban planner, and educator. Busquets is the Martin Bucksbaum Professor in Practice of Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is founder of the architecture firm, BAU Barcelona. Busquets was awarded the 2011 Erasmus Prize, an annual award for exceptional contributions to European culture and society, "...in appreciation of his impressive and multifaceted oeuvre in the field of city planning."

Ciutat Morta is a 2013 Catalan documentary about the 4F case, directed by Xavier Artigas and Xapo Ortega. The film covers the repercussions of the events of February 4, 2006, when a Guàrdia Urbana officer in Barcelona was grievously injured and several people were arrested. This resulted in a long court-case and ultimately four people were convicted and imprisoned, one of whom committed suicide.
