The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 13 full members are located in five Northeastern states: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.
The NAIA men's basketball national championship has been held annually by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics since 1937 to determine the national champion of men's college basketball among its members in the United States and Canada.
Manhattan University is a private, Catholic university in New York City. Originally established in 1853 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools as an academy for day students, it was later incorporated as an institution of higher education through a charter granted by the New York State Board of Regents. Draddy Gymnasium is a 2,345-seat multi-purpose arena in the Bronx, New York. It is located on the campus of Manhattan University and is the home of the Manhattan Jaspers athletic teams including men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball. The building has the largest indoor track in New York City.
Robert P. Gonzalez is a basketball head coach. Gonzalez was previously scout for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association, head coach at Manhattan College and Seton Hall University. He is well known for leading the Jaspers to two NCAA tournaments and the second NCAA tournament win in school history.
Barry "Slice" Rohrssen is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was named the 22nd head coach in Manhattan Jaspers basketball history on April 25, 2006. Rohrssen was fired on March 9, 2011 after going 58–95 over five seasons. He has also served as an assistant under John Calipari at Kentucky and at St. John's University under Chris Mullin.

The Manhattan Jaspers men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Manhattan University in The Bronx, New York City, New York, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They have won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament championship five times. The Jaspers have had three players named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year, most recently Luis Flores in 2003. Luis Flores is also the Manhattan Jaspers all-time leading scorer with 2046 points from 2001-2004. Their current head coach is John Gallagher, who was hired from the University of Hartford in March of 2023.
Richard Garner is an American former basketball player who is best known for his NCAA Division I career at Manhattan College. Garner played for the Jaspers between 1969–70 and 1971–72. During his four-year career, he scored over 1,000 points, had a career shooting percentage of better than .500, and set a since-broken single season school record 121 assists in 1970–71. Garner was the first player from Manhattan College to win the Haggerty Award, an annual award presented to the best male collegiate basketball player in the greater New York City area since 1935–36. He earned it as a senior and was the co-recipient with Fordham's Tom Sullivan.
The Liberty Lady Flames basketball team is the women's basketball team that represents Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in NCAA Division I play. As of the next college basketball season in 2023–24, the Lady Flames compete in Conference USA (C-USA). They are currently coached by Carey Green.
The Manhattan Jaspers baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Manhattan University in the Bronx, New York. The team is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Its home venue is Clover Stadium, located in Pomona, New York, approximately 40 miles outside New York City. The Jaspers are led by interim head coach Steven Rosen.
Kenneth Anthony Norton was an American college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Manhattan Jaspers from 1946 to 1968.
Richard D. Murphy was an American professional basketball player. He played for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics in the Basketball Association of America (BAA). For his career, Murphy averaged 1.1 points per game.
The Battle of the Bronx is a college sports rivalry between Manhattan University and Fordham University, two NCAA Division I schools that play in The Bronx district of New York City. The rivalry dates back to the men's basketball teams playing in 1911 and has since grown into a multi-sport rivalry, and one of the largest intra-city college rivalries in New York City.
The 2019–20 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan College in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by 9th-year head coach Steve Masiello, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 13–18 overall, 8–12 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the #9 seed in the MAAC tournament, they defeated #8 seed Fairfield 61–43 in the first round before losing to #1 seed Siena 49–63 in the quarterfinals.
The 2020–21 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan College in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by tenth-year head coach Steve Masiello, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 7–13, 6–12 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. As the No. 10 seed in the MAAC tournament, they lost in the first round to No. 7 seed Fairfield 58–59 in overtime.

The Jaspers, led by 11th-year head coach Steve Masiello, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
The 1994–95 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan College during the 1994–95 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by third-year head coach Fran Fraschilla, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 26–5, 12–2 in MAAC play to finish in first place. They lost the championship game of the MAAC tournament, but secured an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Playing as the No. 13 seed in the Southeast region, the Jaspers upset No. 4 seed Oklahoma in the opening round. Manhattan was beaten by No. 5 seed Arizona State in the round of 32.
