Ranjith Balakrishnan is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor who works in Malayalam cinema. Ranjith made his directorial debut in 2001 with Ravanaprabhu, the sequel to Devaasuram. He has won three National Film Awards, including one for his film Spirit, which received the National Award for Best Film on Social Issues. His films Thirakkatha and Indian Rupee won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He has also received six Kerala State Film Awards.

He is known for having played a wide range of starring and supporting roles, including comic characters, romantic leads, anti-heroes and villains.

Celluloid is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language biographical drama film co-produced, written, and directed by Kamal, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sreenivasan, Mamta Mohandas, and Chandni in the lead roles. The film is a biopic based on the life story of J.C. Daniel, the father of Malayalam cinema, the making of his film Vigathakumaran, and the story of Vigathakumaran's heroine P. K. Rosie. The film is particularly based on Life of J. C. Daniel, a biography of J. C. Daniel written by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan. The filming started in November 2012, and the online posters were done by a 16-year-old boy, Aswin, which went viral on social media. It was released in February 2013. The film opened with positive reviews and received seven Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Actor (Prithviraj). The movie received many awards and much appreciation with the support of All Lights Film Services (ALFS), a leading film festival consultancy. The film was a blockbuster at the box office.
Vinod Kovoor is an Indian actor best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He gained attention in the comedy show Marimayam, broadcast by Mazhavil Manorama, which conveys a satirical picture of public offices in Kerala. He is also known for his role as "Moosakka" in M80 Moosa, a serial on Media one channel.
Kaliyachan is a 2015 Malayalam drama film directed by Farook Abdul Rahiman in his directorial debut. It starred Manoj K. Jayan, Tirtha Murbadkar, Vaiga, Kalamandalam Sivan Namboodiri, Babu Namboothiri, Manju Pillai, and Mani Pattambi in lead roles. The story about a Kathakali actor and his guru is based on celebrated 1959 poem Kaliyachan by P. Kunhiraman Nair.

Marimayam (transl. Deceit) is an Indian Malayalam-language television sitcom broadcast on Mazhavil Manorama since 5 November 2011. It showcases satirical sketches depicting typical scenarios observed at government institutions and societal trials faced by common man. The show stars Manikandan Pattambi, Vinod Kovoor, Sneha Sreekumar, Niyas Backer, Riyas Narmakala, Mani Shornur, Unni Raj and Salim Hasan in regular roles.
Salim Hassan is a Kerala-based film actor who is a renowned professional in the Malayalam television industry. He is best known by his screen name of Pyarijathan or Pyari in the Malayalam television sitcom, Marimayam aired on the entertainment channel Mazhavil Manorama. He had also appeared in Malayalam films including Mera Naam Shaji (2019) and Makal (2022).
Panchayath Jetty is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film written and directed by Manikandan Pattambi and Salim Hassan and is produced by Saptha Tharang Creations in assosiation with Govind Films. Along with the regular cast of the television sitcom Marimayam which includes the director duo, Rachana Narayanankutty, Sneha Sreekumar and Vinod Kovoor, it also stars Salim Kumar, Kulappulli Leela and Pauly Valsan.
