Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNP) is a Muslim organisation in Tamil Nadu, India which was founded by the well-known Muslim journalist M. Ghulam Mohamed. It has its stated objective as to "work on issues related to minorities and backward communities in Tamil Nadu". It is a registered Society under the Tamil Nadu Registration Societies Act [1] with Reg.No.51 of 2001. [2] The MNP operates the Islam-centered Tamil magazine Vidiyal Velli -- the largest Muslim journal with a circulation of 23,000. [3] that highlights various aspects of Islam. In 2007 it became part of the Islamic Extremist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI, offshoot of the Students Islamic Movement of India which is itself associated with the Indian Mujahideen) — an umbrella organisation with two other entities in it: the Karnataka For Dignity (KFD), Tamil Nadu, and National Development Front (NDF). Tamil Muslims are Tamils who practise Islam. The community is 6 million in India, primarily in the state of Tamil Nadu where 70% of the Muslim community identified themselves as Tamils. In Tamil Nadu, the majority of Tamil-speaking Muslims belong to the Rowther, Marakkayar, Labbai, and Kayalar clans. Other Muslims in the region are descendants of unions between Arab-origin Moorish Muslims and Tamil women, as well as local converts. However, the majority of these individuals are native Tamils who converted influenced by Tajuddin Cheraman Perumal. There is a substantial diaspora, particularly in Southeast Asia, which has seen their presence as early as the 13th century. In the late 20th century, the diaspora expanded to Western Europe, Persian Gulf and North America. A separate Tamil-speaking Muslim population also exists in Sri Lanka known as the Sri Lankan Moors, who do not identify as Tamils but are a mixture of Arab, Persian, South Indian and Malay ancestries of which the Dravidian element is predominant because of centuries of heavy Indian injection. These Tamil speaking Muslim communities in Sri Lanka were known as the Sonakar, which is derived from the term Yona, originally meaning a Moors.

The Milli Gazette is an Indian English language digital news publication based in Delhi. Founded in January 2000, the publication describes itself as the Indian Muslims' Leading News Source. In 2008, it started its e-paper publication.

The National Political Conference was held on February 13–15, 2009 at Kozhikode in Kerala. It was organized by several social organizations in India such as the Lilong Social Forum, the Manitha Neethi Pasare, the Karnataka Forum for Dignity and the Popular Front of India. This conference later led to the formation of a new political party called the Social Democratic Party of India.

Dr. Prof. M. H. Jawahirullah is an Indian politician currently elected as a member of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly 2021 from Papanasam Constituency and a former member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Ramanathapuram constituency. He represents the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi party, of which he is the founding member and present leader. He also the member of Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazagham.
