Manoj Kumar Sharma (born June 18, 1970) is a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal. [1] [2]

Early life and education

Sharma was born in Birgunj, Parsa. He studied law at Nepal Law Campus, completed an LL.M. from Pune University, India, and earned a PhD in Labour Law from Tribhuvan University. [1]

Career

He began practising law in 1995 and later served as an Additional Judge at Butwal and Patan Appellate Courts (2013–2015). [3] Sharma was appointed as a Supreme Court Justice in 2019. [4] [5]

Sharma’s appointment in 2019 was criticised for alleged nepotism due to his family ties with former Chief Justice Damodar Sharma. [6] His qualifications were also legally challenged, though the Supreme Court of Nepal upheld his appointment. [7]
