Manzanita is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the waterfront on the west side of the island along Manzanita Road NE and the east shore of Manzanita Bay, including Little Manzanita Bay. [1]

Bainbridge Island is a city and island in Kitsap County, Washington, United States, located in Puget Sound. The population was 24,522 at the 2017 census, making Bainbridge Island the second largest city in Kitsap County.

A 1908 home on the north shore of Little Manzanita Bay was owned at different times by the sons of George Westinghouse and Charles Lindbergh. [2]

George Westinghouse Jr. was an American entrepreneur and engineer based in Pennsylvania who invented the railway air brake and was a pioneer of the electrical industry, gaining his first patent at the age of 19. Westinghouse saw the potential in alternating current as an electricity distribution system in the early 1880s and put all his resources into developing and marketing it, a move that put his business in direct competition with the Edison direct current system. In 1911 Westinghouse received the AIEE's Edison Medal "For meritorious achievement in connection with the development of the alternating current system."

Charles Lindbergh American aviator, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist

Charles Augustus Lindbergh was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, explorer, and environmental activist. At age 25 in 1927, he went from obscurity as a U.S. Air Mail pilot to instantaneous world fame by winning the Orteig Prize: making a nonstop flight from Roosevelt Field, Long Island, New York, to Paris, France. Lindbergh covered the ​33 12-hour, 3,600-statute-mile (5,800 km) flight alone in a single-engine purpose-built Ryan monoplane, the Spirit of St. Louis.

Port Madison, sometimes called Port Madison Bay, is a deep water bay located on the west shore of Puget Sound in western Washington. It is bounded on the north by Indianola, on the west by Suquamish, and on the south by Bainbridge Island. Port Madison connects to Bainbridge Island via the Agate Pass Bridge to the southwest. Two small bays open off Port Madison: Miller Bay to the northwest, and another small bay to the south which, confusingly, is also called Port Madison Bay.

Westwood is an area and neighbourhood of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the waterfront near the Crystal Springs community. Westwood is on the western side of the island, at the north end of Crystal Springs Road Northeast. Some maps label a road called Westwood Road Northeast existing here running east from the water, but there is no public road by this name. Because of this, the inclusion of Westwood on maps is not universal, and this area is frequently referred to as part of Crystal Springs.

Battle Point is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, located on the western side of the island. The northern part of the neighborhood extends to Arrow Point. Battle Point also contains the communities of Tolo and Venice.

Creosote was a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, along Eagle Harbor. The area is directly visible from the downtown Bainbridge Island community of Winslow, and was so named because of the manufacturing and application of creosote at the now-defunct Wyckoff Company plant in the area. The former industrial site is to the north of the community of Bill Point and east of the community of Eagledale at the southern side of the entrance to Eagle Harbor. The site is now the city-owned Pritchard Park and is undergoing Superfund clean-up.

Bill Point is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, near Eagle Harbor. It also refers to the sandspit at the southern side of the entrance to Eagle Harbor.

Fletcher Bay is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, United States. It is located on the west side of the island on the south of Fletcher Bay.

Madrona Heights is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the northwest part of the island, between the communities of Seabold to the north and Manzanita. The intersection of NE Hidden Cove Road and Henderson Road NE/Manzanita Road NE serves as the centre of the Madrona Heights community.

Manitou Beach is an historic beachfront residential neighborhood in Bainbridge Island, Washington. Except for city-owned lots with beach access, there are no parking or facilities for the general public. The city has plans for a small parking lot and boardwalk to improve beach access.

Point Monroe is a unique neighborhood on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Located on the northeastern end of the island, just north of Fay Bainbridge State Park, Point Monroe, also known as "the Sandspit," is a thin strip of land that wraps around a saltwater lagoon. There are over 50 homes on the Sandspit, many of which—because of the thinness of the spit—have two waterfronts - one behind the house, and one in front of it and across the road. Despite the fact that many of the homes are small, often former fishing cabins, current house prices are generally equivalent with larger no-bank waterfront homes elsewhere on the island because of the double waterfronts. Point Monroe is accessible via Point Monroe Drive NE, which is a public road up to the turnaround at its midsection and private shortly after that point. Residents of the Sandspit form a lively and varied community, and celebrate each Fourth of July with their own parade, concluding at the State Park with patriotic songs.

Rolling Bay is a community on Bainbridge Island, located on the eastern side of the island. It consists of a number of stores at the intersection of Sunrise Drive NE and NE Valley Road. Rolling Bay post office serves nearby the Sunrise area, North Madison, and the Manitou Beach area. Most of Rolling Bay is not on the water. Among the waterfront areas near Rolling Bay is Manitou Beach, although referring to this area as Rolling Bay is also considered acceptable.

South Beach is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the southeast of the island, and is the southernmost point on it. South Beach runs along NE South Beach Road. The area is home to authors Harry Brelsford and David Gutterson. Brelsford has written many books on "small and medium business" (SMB) technology and is best known for Small Business Server books. Gutterson wrote the best-selling "Snow Falling On Cedars" title that was a New York Times best seller and produced into a popular movie.

Tolo is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the western part of the island. The center of Tolo is along Olympus Beach Road NE. Tolo is near to, and sometimes synonymous with, the community of Battle Point. Points of interest include the Grand Forest, Bainbridge Gardens, and nearby Battle Point Park.

Venice is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on Battle Point, around Arrow Point. Venice generally encompasses the area north of Battle Point Park.

Yeomalt is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the eastern part of the island, north of Wing Point. Yeomalt is also known as Yeomalt Point.

Wing Point is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located near Winslow, the downtown, on the eastern part of the island. At the north of Wing Point is the Wing Point Golf and Country Club and moderately priced housing along NE Wing Point Way. To the south is Wing Point Road NE and the private road NE Wing Point Drive, which contain large, very expensive waterfront homes.

Burke Bay is a small bay in Kitsap County in Washington state. It is located on the Kitsap Peninsula of Puget Sound, west of Seattle and Bainbridge Island. Nearby communities include Brownsville, Illahee and Keyport. Close towns are Bremerton, Poulsbo and Silverdale. A strong military presence strengthens the county's economy.

Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial

The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial is an outdoor exhibit commemorating the internment of Japanese Americans from Bainbridge Island in the state of Washington. It is located on the south shore of Eagle Harbor, opposite the town of Winslow. Administratively, it is a unit of the Minidoka National Historic Site in Idaho.

Pritchard Park is a 50-acre (20 ha) former Superfund environmental cleanup site on the shore of Bainbridge Island's Eagle Harbor in Washington state.
