Margaret Jane Spear was an American Democratic politician from Newton, Massachusetts. [1] She represented the 5th Middlesex district in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1941 to 1950. [1]
Frank Gilman Allen was an American businessman and politician from Massachusetts. He was president of a successful leathergoods business in Norwood, Massachusetts, and active in local and state politics. A Republican, he served two terms as lieutenant governor, and then one as the 51st Governor of Massachusetts. He was a major proponent of development in Norwood, donating land and funds for a number of civic improvements.
Charles Lee Underhill was a United States representative and anti-suffrage activist from Massachusetts. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on July 20, 1867. He moved to Massachusetts in 1872 with his parents, who settled in Somerville. He attended the common schools, was office boy, coal teamster, and a blacksmith. He subsequently engaged in the manufacture and sale of hardware in that city.

George Joseph Bates was a member of the United States House of Representatives from the state of Massachusetts. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives 1918–1924. Bates was then elected Mayor of Salem in 1924 at the age of 33. He served as mayor until 1937, at which time he was sworn in as a Republican member of the House in the 75th Congress. During World War II, he was an interventionist. After the fall of France and before the Nazi invasion of Soviet Russia, Britain was effectively fighting the Nazis alone, throughout this time period Bates was outspokenly pro-British, and he advocated aiding Britain in any way possible, in order to help in their war against the Nazis. In 1941 he was one of the few Republicans to abstain from voting on the 1941 Lend Lease Act. Bates voted in favor of arming merchant ships. Bates made good on his campaign promises and voted to increase lend-lease funding to the British military as well as food aid for British civilians during the Blitz. Bates was subsequently re-elected six times.

Sumner Gage Whittier was an American politician who served two two-year terms as the 58th Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1953 to 1957.
Michael Francis Skerry was a Massachusetts legislator; he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for six terms, from 1941–1957, and was the speaker from 1955 to 1957. Skerry served as delegate from the 8th District of Middlesex County to the Democratic National Convention from Massachusetts in 1944 and again in 1956. Michael Skerry began his political career in 1936 when he was elected to the Medford Board of Aldermen, representing Ward 1 for four years. After leaving the Massachusetts Legislature, Skerry served as clerk of the Malden District Court from 1957 to 1978. Michael Skerry died on September 30, 1989.

Chandler is an American politician who was the 94th President of the Massachusetts Senate and the Massachusetts State Senator for the 1st Worcester district, which includes parts of the city of Worcester, where she resides, and the towns of Boylston, Holden, Princeton, and West Boylston, and parts of Clinton and Northborough. She is a Democrat who has served since January 2001. From 1995 to 2001 she was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Prior to serving in the Massachusetts legislature, she was a member of the Worcester school committee from 1991 to 1994. She is the first woman from Worcester ever to be elected to the Massachusetts Senate.
