Maria Bruna Estrach (born 1984) is an applied mathematician whose interests include stochastic modelling of multiscale phenomena with applications in mathematical biology and industry. [1] She is affiliated with the University of Cambridge, where she is a university lecturer and Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and a Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge. [2]
Bruna was born in 1984 in Barcelona and grew up in Sant Cugat del Vallès, a town to the north of Barcelona, and while growing up there became an avid field hockey player with Júnior Futbol Club. [3] She studied mathematics and industrial engineering as an undergraduate at the Centro de Formación Interdisciplinaria Superior of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, completing her studies there in 2008. [1] [4]
After coming to the University of Oxford for a one-year master's degree program in mathematical ophthalmology, she was invited to stay at Oxford for her doctoral studies, [1] and completed a DPhil in applied mathematics in 2012. [4]
After completing her doctorate, Bruna was a postdoctoral researcher in computer science at the University of Oxford, an Olga Taussky Pauli Fellow and senior postdoctoral researcher at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics in Austria, and a junior research fellow in mathematics at St John's College, Oxford, before moving to Cambridge in 2019. In 2016 Bruna was awarded a L’Oréal-UNESCO Women in Science Fellowship, the first given in mathematics. [1] She is also a 2016 winner of the Aviva Women of the Future Awards. [5]
In 2020 the London Mathematical Society gave Bruna a Whitehead Prize "in recognition of her outstanding research in asymptotic homogenisation, most prominently in the systematic development of continuum models of interacting particles systems". [6]

Amanda Susan Barnard is an Australian theoretical physicist working in predicting the real world behavior of nanoparticles using analytical models and supercomputer simulations and applied machine learning. Barnard is a pioneer in the thermodynamic cartography of nanomaterials, creating nanoscale phase diagrams relevant to different environmental conditions, and relating these to structure/property maps. Her current research involves developing and applying statistical methods and machine/deep learning in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and materials and molecular informatics. In 2014 she became the first person in the southern hemisphere, and the first woman, to win the Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology, which she won for her work on diamond nanoparticles.
Michael Richard Edward Proctor is a British physicist, mathematician, and academic. He is Professor of Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics at the University of Cambridge and, since his election in 2013, the Provost of King's College, Cambridge and school governor at Eton College.

She is a Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge and Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. She is the author of the book Partial Differential Equation Methods for Image Inpainting, on methods for using the solutions to partial differential equations to fill in gaps in digital images.
Mary Jacquiline Romero is a quantum physicist in the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems at the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research expertise and interests are in the field of quantum foundations and quantum information. In particular, Romero is an experimental quantum physicist studying the properties of single photons for the development of new quantum alphabets and the nature of quantum causality.
Heather A. Harrington is an applied mathematician interested in applied algebra and geometry, dynamical systems, chemical reaction network theory, topological data analysis, and systems biology. Since 2020, she is professor of mathematics and Royal Society University Research Fellow at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, where she heads the Algebraic Systems Biology group. In 2023, she became a director at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, where she is also leading the interinstitutional Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD) together with partners from the Technical University Dresden and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems.
Emily Fleur Shuckburgh is a climate scientist, mathematician and science communicator. She is Director of Cambridge Zero, the University of Cambridge's climate change initiative, Academic Director of the Institute of Computing for Climate Science, and is a fellow of Darwin College, Cambridge. Her research interests include the dynamics of the atmosphere, oceans and climate and environmental data science. She is a theoretician, numerical modeller and observational scientist.
Katharine Arwen Michie is an Australian structural biologist, biochemist and physicist. In 2005 she was named a Fellow of the L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science and was also awarded a Marie Curie International Research Fellowship in January, 2006. Michie is currently in charge of the Structural Biology X-ray Facility, a part of the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre, at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

She is an associate professor of statistics at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in the Department of Applied Mathematics. In 2018, Ho received the L'Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award in recognition of her work toward developing a predictive model estimating the risk of breast cancer for Southeast Asian women.
