Shirley Ann Mount Hufstedler was an American attorney and judge who served as the first United States Secretary of Education from 1979 to 1981. She previously served as a U.S. circuit judge of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals from 1968 to 1979.
General Johan Ivar Hederstedt is a senior Swedish Army officer. Hederstedt was commissioned as an officer in 1966 and went on to serve as a second lieutenant in the Älvsborg Regiment. In 1981,he embarked on a United Nations mission to the volatile region of Cyprus,a commitment that was followed by another overseas assignment in 1988 when he assumed command of a UN battalion in Lebanon. Throughout the 1990s,Hederstedt held various significant roles within the military,including serving as the brigade commander of the Life Guards Brigade,the commander of the Western Army Division,the deputy chief of the operations leadership for international operations,and a military expert at the Ministry of Defence. In the year 2000,he assumed the position of Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Remarkably,his tenure in this role lasted only three years,making him the shortest-serving Supreme Commander in history.
Yvonne Kauger is an associate justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court,and was appointed to the Court's District 4 seat by Governor George Nigh in 1984,and served as chief justice from 1997 to 1998. She was born in New Cordell,Oklahoma,and grew up in Colony,Oklahoma,and is an honorary member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Kauger founded the Gallery of the Plains Indian in Colony,Oklahoma and is also the co-founder of the Red Earth organization. Kauger also serves as Symposium Coordinator of the Sovereignty Symposium. Kauger was inducted into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame in 2001.
Martha Lee Walters is an American labor attorney and who served as the 43rd chief justice of Oregon from 2018 to 2022;she was a member of the court from 2006 to 2022. She became the first female justice on the state's highest court in three years when she was appointed in 2006 and the first female chief justice when she was elected by her fellow justices in 2018.
