Marie Hoyau (born 12 March 1997, in Poissy) is a French ski jumper.
In 2012, Hoyau won her first gold medal at a national competition in Les Tuffes (7 October 2012). [1] On the small ski jump Le Grépon in Chamonix she set the women’s record on 20 January 2013. [2]
From 2012/13 on, Hoyau also takes part in international FIS competitions. At the European Youth Olympic Festival in Romania (19 February 2013) she placed 6th, at the two Alpen Cup events in Einsiedeln and Ziri she achieved mid-table positions. At the FIS Cup competition in Villach (13 and 14 July 2013), which like all FIS Cups was not restricted to junior ski jumpers, Hoyau placed 27th. [3]
The Summer Grand Prix in Courchevel (15 August 2013) was the first international elite competition for which she was nominated by the French Ski Association FFS (Féderation française de ski) as the new talent side by side with the French jumpers Léa Lemare, Coline Mattel and Julia Clair. So at the age of barely 16 she could beat several international professional jumpers and placed 34th (among 47 elite participants).
Hoyau represents her hometown's Ski Club St. Gervais. Her coach is Thierry Revillod. [4]
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines.

She is one of the most successful female ski jumpers to date, as well as one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport, having won four World Cup overall titles, seven World Championship medals, and a Winter Olympic medal. As of December 2024, Takanashi holds the record for the most individual World Cup wins, male or female, with 63. She also has three Guinness World Records certificates for the most podium finishes in the Ski Jumping World Cup, the most individual victories by a female in the Ski Jumping World Cup, and the most Ski Jumping World Cup individual victories in a career (overall).
Irina Andreyevna Avvakumovanée Taktayeva is a former Russian ski jumper. She is a multiple-time Russian national ski jumping champion and the Continental Cup winner in the 2012/13 season. At the 2013 Winter Universiade in Predazzo, Avvakumova won a gold medal in the team competition and bronze in the individual competition. She represented Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, finishing in the 16th position. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she finished fourth, the best placement of any ski jumper from independent Russia.

Magdalena Pałasz is a Polish ski jumper and member of the Polish national team. She represents the club UKS Sołtysianie Stare Bystre. She was the first Polish woman to score points in the World Cup and became the first Polish national champion in women's ski jumping (2014). Since 2021, she has also worked as an expert commentator for Eurosport and TVN during ski jumping competitions.
