Marilyn Grace Bell Di Lascio is a Canadian retired long distance swimmer. She was the first person to swim across Lake Ontario and later swam the English Channel and Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Pamela Leila Rai is a former freestyle and butterfly swimmer who represented Canada from 1980 to 1987. Rai competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California where she won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 × 100-metre medley relay, with teammates Anne Ottenbrite, Reema Abdo and Michelle MacPherson. Rai successfully represented Canada at many international meets throughout her career. Other notable accomplishments include University of Victoria Athlete of the Year 1986, City of Victoria Athlete of the Year 1985, 1983 Hapoel Games silver, 1983 Pan American Games silver, and 1986 Commonwealth Games gold medals. From 1984 to 1987 Rai swam for the University of Victoria, where she dominated Canadian university women's swimming. Rai is a retired high school math and social justice teacher and a certified yoga instructor trained in India of the Sivananda lineage. She is an honored inductee to the BC Sports Hall of Fame, the Swim BC Hall of Fame, the University of Victoria Legacy Hall of Fame and the Delta Sports Hall of Fame. Rai is the first woman in the world of Indian ancestry, and the first Indo-Canadian to win an Olympic medal.

Thorsness is also a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and serves as an arbitrator for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. As a member of the CAS Ad Hoc Division at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she participated in cases brought before the court as both a panel member and Sole Arbitrator.

Jennifer Walinga is a retired rower who competed between the 1980s to 1990s. As a member of the national rowing team for Canada, Walinga placed 4th at the 1983 Junior World Championships in Vichy, France, 2nd at the 1984 U23 Sr B World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, and 5th at the 1985 World Rowing Championships in Hazewinkel, Belgium. In coxed four events, Walinga won gold at the 1986 Commonwealth Games and bronze at the 1986 World Rowing Championships. At the 1987 World Championships, the team placed 5th in Copenhagen, Denmark. She and her crew of Tricia Smith, Heather Clarke, and Jane Tregunno (Stamp) had a seventh place finish in the coxed four at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
