The Phoenician port of Beirut, also known as the Phoenician Harbour of Beirut and archaeological site BEY039 is located between Rue Allenby and Rue Foch in Beirut, Lebanon. Studies have shown that the Bronze Age waterfront lay around 300 metres (330 yd) behind the modern port due to coastal regularisation and siltation. It was excavated and reported on by Josette Elayi and Hala Sayegh in 2000 and determined to date to the Iron Age III and Persian periods. Two nineteenth-century Ottoman docks were also unearthed during construction, just to the north of this area at archaeological sites BEY018 and BEY019.
Beirut City Hall, also known as the Municipality of Beirut, is a landmark building built in downtown Beirut, Lebanon in 1924, and has become an architectural landmark in the downtown area of Beirut Central District. It features a yellow limestone facade and combines various architectural styles. The building is located on the intersection of Foch Street and Rue Weygand in the city center. The building is in the Venetian and Arabesque architectural styles, a mix that expresses the regional identity of the area.
New Abdali is an area in the Al-Abdali district in Amman, Jordan. Its development plan, launched in 2005, consisting of hotels, apartments, offices, commercial outlets and entertainment to be developed on 384,000 square metres (0.148 sq mi) of land, intending to create a total built-up area of over 2,000,000 square metres (0.77 sq mi). The area already hosts and will further host nearly all of the tallest buildings in Amman, including the current two tallest completed buildings of Amman which are Amman Rotana and W Amman.
Sky Gate is a tower built in the heart of the Achrafieh District in Beirut. From its completion in 2014 until late 2016, Sky Gate was the tallest structure in Lebanon. The tower is composed of four superimposed block-like sections that accommodate 42 floors in an unconventional' design. Sky Gate is situated on the peak-point of Achrafieh, offering a 360 degree view of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Tilal Beirut and the Atomium twin towers surround Sky Gate from both sides. This tower and others like it have been thoroughly criticized for their effect on the city as a whole, particularly in the manner in which they contribute to the loss of local built heritage and a steady increase in inflation
Parklinks is a 35-hectare (86-acre) mixed-use development that straddles the Pasig–Quezon City boundaries in the Philippines. It is a joint project of LT Group and Ayala Land located on the banks of the Marikina River in the eastern part of Metro Manila. The riverfront development is the biggest along the segment of C-5 Road north of the Pasig River and is planned to contain a 3-hectare (7.4-acre) central urban park, an esplanade, river terrace, riparian gardens and bike trails designed to make it one of the greenest urban estates in the Manila metropolitan area.
Jean-Marc Bonfils was a Lebanese architect of French ethnicity, based in Beirut, known for his work in the city during the rebuilding after the Lebanese Civil War. He was killed by the 2020 Beirut explosion, which occurred near his home.
