Marissa Oakley (born April 15, 1999) is an American artistic gymnast.
Marissa Oakley was born on April 15, 1999, in Naperville, Illinois, to parents, Dan and Jill Oakley. She has two sisters; Angelique and Joslyn. She got into gymnastics because her older sister, Angelique, was in it and Marissa wanted to do it. [1]
She started gymnastics in 2006 at Premier Gymnastics as a level four gymnast. [2] She quickly progressed through the Junior Olympic levels and was a Level 10 in 2010; at ten years old.
Her first J.O. Nationals was in 2011; placing 48th in the Junior A division. [3] She was State champion in 2012 [4] and later placed twenty-seventh at J.O. Nationals. [5] In 2013, her fourth season as a level ten, she won Regionals. [6] At Nationals, she finished fifth in the Junior A division as well as tying for second on bars with Emily Gaskins [7] and Grace Waguespack. [8] [9] [10] In addition, she tied for third with Rachael Lukacs too. [11] [12]
On November 23, 2013, she verbally committed to the University of Georgia and their gymnastics team. [13] Oakley remained a level ten for the 2014 Junior Olympic season and her prowess showed; winning both State and Regional titles. [14] [15] At Nationals, Marissa finished eleventh in the all-around but tied for third on beam with Sophia Carter. [16] [17] [18]
In March, prior to the Level 10 championship season, Oakley participated in one of the National Elite Qualifier events; held in California. She finished third in the all-around with a score of 54.100, which was enough to qualify her to the U.S. Classic. [19]
At 2017 Classics, Oakley finished in fourth on the uneven bars behind Ragan Smith, Alyona Shchennikova, and Trinity Thomas and tied with Margzetta Frazier. [20]
Later that summer, Oakley attended nationals, where she placed third on the uneven bars behind Riley McCusker and Ashton Locklear and tied with Smith. [21]
Chow's Gymnastics and Dance Institute, commonly referred to as Chow's, is an American women's artistic gymnastics academy based in West Des Moines, Iowa. The academy was founded by Chinese former artistic gymnast Liang Chow. The club has produced Olympic champions, Shawn Johnson and Gabrielle Douglas, and United States national team members such as Norah Flatley and Rachel Gowey.
Sarah Cruz Finnegan is an American artistic gymnast and was an alternate for the 2012 Summer Olympics Gymnastics team. She competed for the Louisiana State Lady Tigers at the collegiate level, and was the 2017 and 2019 NCAA champion on uneven bars. She is the older sister of Aleah Finnegan.
Kennedy Baker is a retired American collegiate and artistic gymnast. She competed as an elite gymnast from 2009 through 2013 and has since retired. She had competed in collegiate gymnastics for the Florida Gators.

Alexandra Claire McMurtry is an American former artistic gymnast. She is the 2013 Nastia Liukin Cup champion and the 2017 NCAA Champion. She competed in NCAA gymnastics for the Florida Gators and was the 10th person in NCAA history to record a Gym Slam.
Jessie DeZiel is an American artistic gymnast. She currently attends University of Nebraska and was a member of their gymnastics team, from 2012 to 2015.
McKenzie Kristine Wofford is a retired American artistic gymnast. During her club career, she competed in four U.S. Nationals and was part of the U.S. National team for the 2010 and 2011 seasons and was also the alternate for the U.S. team at the 2011 Pan American Games.
Artistic gymnastics is a type of gymnastics in which athletes compete with short routines on various equipment, including bars, beams, rings, pommel horses, vaulting tables, and on a sprung floor. Gymnastics is well-established in the United States, where available programs range from recreational classes, casual summer camps, and children's leagues; to highly competitive collegiate leagues and four national teams. Although this is not unique to the United States, due to the physically demanding nature of the sport there are fewer options for adult gymnastics outside the elite level, although local parks and recreation departments often have limited offerings.

Sophina Saade DeJesus is an American artistic gymnast and dancer of mixed Puerto Rican and African-American descent. A former elite gymnast, she was a member of the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team from the fall of 2012 to her graduation in 2016.
Trinity Lemyra Thomas is an American artistic gymnast and a four-time National Team member (2016–20). She was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships, where she also won silver medals in the individual all-around and on the uneven bars, as well as the bronze medalist on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2017 national championships. She was a member of the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team. One of the most successful NCAA gymnasts in history, Thomas finished her collegiate career with a record-tying 28 perfect-10 scores and a record-breaking five Gym Slams.
Emily Paige Gaskins is an American artistic gymnast. An elite gymnast since 2013, Gaskins was a member of the U.S. Junior National team for three years until 2016. She also made the Senior National Team in 2016.
Kiya Johnson is an American artistic gymnast. She currently competes for the LSU Tigers gymnastics team.
