Mark John Banker (born January 15, 1956) is an American football coach. Banker is currently the safeties coach at Washington State University. He was previously the assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach at the University of Hawaii. Previously, he served the defensive coordinator of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Oregon State Beavers and the San Diego Chargers.

Coaching career

Banker has coached for the USC Trojans and in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers. He followed Mike Riley from Oregon State to Nebraska when Riley was hired by the Cornhuskers in 2014. On January 11, 2017, after Riley and Banker coached Nebraska to two poor seasons, Banker was relieved of his duties as defensive coordinator. [1] He was replaced by Bob Diaco. On January 5, 2018, it was announced that Banker was hired to be the assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach under Nick Rolovich at the University of Hawaii. [2]

Personal life

Banker graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts in 1978 with a B.A. in physical education. [3] Banker and his wife Debbie have 3 children, Chris, Jayme and Kelsey. [2]

Michael Joseph Riley is an American football coach who is the head coach and general manager for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He has previously served as the head coach of two college football programs: Oregon State and Nebraska (2015–2017). Kevin Steele is an American football coach and former player, currently serving as the Defensive Coordinator at the University of Miami. Steele has previously worked as defensive coordinator at Auburn, LSU, Clemson, and coached inside linebackers at Alabama. From 1999 to 2002, Steele served as the head football coach at Baylor University, compiling a record of 9–36 overall and 1–31 in the Big 12 Conference.

The Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors football team represents the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in NCAA Division I FBS college football. It was part of the Western Athletic Conference until July 2012, when the team joined the Mountain West Conference.

Bo Pelini American football player and coach (born 1967)

Mark Anthony "Bo" Pelini is a former American football coach and former player. He was most recently the defensive coordinator for the Louisiana State University Tigers football team. He is the younger brother of former Florida Atlantic head coach Carl Pelini, who has frequently worked under Bo as an assistant coach.

Brady Hoke American football player and coach (born 1958)

Brady Patrick Hoke is an American football coach in his second stint as the head coach at San Diego State University. He was the head coach at the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2014. He grew up in Ohio and attended Ball State University, where he played linebacker from 1977 to 1980. He began his coaching career in 1982 and held assistant coaching positions at Grand Valley State (1983), Western Michigan (1984–1986), Toledo (1987–1989), Oregon State (1989–1994), and Michigan (1995–2002).

Kurt Keola Gouveia is an American football coach and former linebacker who played 13 seasons in the National Football League and one season in the XFL. During his career, he played for the Washington Redskins, the Philadelphia Eagles (1995), and the San Diego Chargers (1996–1998). In 2001, he also played for the Las Vegas Outlaws in the now-defunct XFL.

Greg Manusky American football coach (born 1966)

Gregory Manusky is an American football coach who is the inside linebacker coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. Manusky started his coaching career as a linebacker coach for two teams over six seasons. From there, he transitioned to a defensive coordinator for four teams over 12 seasons, totaling 19 seasons as a defensive coach. Prior to coaching, Manusky played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for three teams over 12 seasons. Manusky played college football at Colgate University and high school football at Dallas High School.

Gregory James McMackin is a retired American football coach and former player. He served as the head football coach at Oregon Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1989 and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2008 to 2011, compiling a career college football record of 53–39–1. Before coming to Hawaii as defensive coordinator in 2007, he previously served in the same capacity for the Seattle Seahawks, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The 2017 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team represented the University of Nebraska during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. 2020 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team American college football season

The 2020 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team represented the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in the 2020 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Rainbow Warriors played their final home games at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu as members of the Mountain West Conference. They were led by first-year head coach Todd Graham.

While primarily a defensive coach, he has spent multiple stints on the offensive side of the ball. Besides Hawai'i and William Jewell, Figg has also coached at Missouri State, Arizona State, and Southern Arkansas.
