Mark Blount (born 5 January 1974) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Born in Derby, he played for Sheffield United and Peterborough United in the Football League, and had spells with Gresley Rovers, Scarborough and Burton Albion in non-league.

Career

Blount was signed for Sheffield United by manager Dave Bassett in February 1994 for a fee of £12,500 from Gresley Rovers. [1] He was never able to make the break into the first team and was eventually released in 1996 upon the arrival of Howard Kendall as the new Blades manager, having made only fifteen appearances in total. [1] Following his release he spent some time with Scarborough and Peterborough United before finishing his career at Burton Albion. [1]

Paul Warnock Evans is an English retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Burton Albion in the 1980s. His time with Neil Warnock at Burton began a more than 10-year relationship with Warnock in football. He would spend time as Assistant Manager at Scarborough, then coach at Notts County and Huddersfield Town. Evans was also known at these clubs as "Warnock's mate" and was seen many times in the dressing room calming Warnock down when he became angry.

The Bass Charity Vase is a friendly association football tournament founded in 1889 in Burton upon Trent to raise funds for medical and hospital charities. The trophy was donated by Lord Burton and Hamar Bass the great-grandsons of William Bass, the founder of the Bass Brewery. The trophy itself is made from gold and inscribed with the names of all previous winners. It is reputed to be one of the most valuable trophies in English football. The 2015–16 season was Burton Albion's 66th season in their history and first ever in League One after gaining promotion the previous season. Along with League One, the club also took part in the FA Cup, League Cup and JP Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.
