Mark Khalife

Mark Khalife is a Lebanese cinematographer whose work spans narrative features, documentaries, television series, and multi-channel video installations. Born in Beirut, he graduated from the London Film School in 2014. His feature film work includes La mer et ses vagues (2023), Valley of Exile (2022), Sanzaru (2020), and Speaking in Tongues (2018).

Khalife has also collaborated with contemporary visual artists including Akram Zaatari, Nesrine Khodr, Alia Farid, and Carlos Motta.

In 2014, he was selected for the Berlinale Talents program in Berlin. [1]

Career

Khalife's cinematography includes fiction features, shorts, essay films, and installation pieces. His recent feature Dead Dog (2024), directed by Sarah Francis, premiered at the Cairo International Film Festival, where it won the Saad Eldin Wahba Award for Best Arabic Film. [2] . His 2023 feature La mer et ses vagues screened in the ACID program at the Cannes Film Festival. [3] .
