Mark Simmons QPM is a retired senior UK police officer.

Simmons joined the Metropolitan Police as a constable on 6 September 1982, becoming Borough Commander for Tower Hamlets and in February 2012 receiving the Queen's Police Medal. [1] In March 2016 he was the subject of an Independent Police Complaints Commission inquiry [2] He was Deputy Assistant Commissioner and Head of Local Policing until December 2018, when he was appointed Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police's Frontline Policing. [3] [4]

He announced his retirement in February 2020 [5] before postponing it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [6] He finally retired in August 2020. [1]

Sir Stephen House is a British police officer who served as Acting Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police in 2022. After beginning his career at Sussex Police in 1981, House held positions in Northamptonshire Police and West Yorkshire Police, then became Assistant Chief Constable of Staffordshire Police in 1998. In 2001, he joined the Metropolitan Police as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner, remaining there until 2007, when he was appointed Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police. The Metropolitan Police of Greater London is organised into four main directorates, each with differing responsibilities. These are Frontline Policing, Met Operations, Specialist Operations, Professionalism and six civilian staffed support departments under the umbrella of Met Headquarters. Each is overseen by an Assistant Commissioner, or in the case of a support department a director of police staff which is the equivalent civilian grade.

Patricia Ferguson Gallan QPM is a former British police officer who served as Assistant Commissioner Specialist Crime and Operations of the Metropolitan Police in London. She previously served as Deputy Assistant Commissioner from 2012 to 2015, Assistant Chief Constable of Merseyside Police from February 2006 to 2012, and also served as temporary Deputy Chief Constable of the force from October 2009 to February 2010. She was the most senior female ethnic minority police officer in British history. She retired from the police service in August 2018.

Simon Byrne is a senior British police officer. He has served as Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) since July 2019. He was the Deputy Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police from 2009 to 2011 and the Assistant Commissioner for Territorial Policing in the Metropolitan Police Service from 2011 to 2014. Sir Mark Peter Rowley is a British senior police officer who has been the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis since September 2022. He was the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis for Specialist Operations of the Metropolitan Police Service and the concurrent Chair of the National Police Chiefs' Council Counter-Terrorism Coordination Committee and National Lead for Counter Terrorism Policing. He was previously Chief Constable of Surrey Police (2009–2011), and also served as Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police between February 2017 and April 2017. He retired from the police in March 2018. In July 2022, it was announced that he would return to policing in the role of Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, replacing former Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick. He was sworn in as Commissioner on 12 September 2022.

Stephen James Kavanagh, QPM, DL is a British retired senior police officer. He served as Chief Constable of Essex Police from May 2013 until his retirement in October 2018 after 33 years of service. He started his policing career with the Metropolitan Police Service, where he worked in homicide and counter-terrorism, and rose to Deputy Assistant Commissioner. In 2017, he reached the final four candidates in consideration to be the next Metropolitan Police Commissioner, but lost out to Cressida Dick.

Helen Mary King is a British academic administrator and retired police officer. Since April 2017, she has been Principal of St Anne's College, Oxford. Her previous career was as a police officer, serving with the Cheshire Constabulary, the Merseyside Police, and the Metropolitan Police Service. She retired from the police in 2017, having reached the rank of Assistant Commissioner.

Serving with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) from 1989 onwards, she transferred to the Metropolitan Police in April 2021 as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner to fill a post left vacant by Lucy D'Orsi's appointment as Chief Constable of the British Transport Police, with her promotion to Assistant Commissioner (Professionalism) announced in September 2022.

Alan James Brown is a retired British police officer who spent his entire career with the Metropolitan Police in London.
