Marlon Vivienne Daniels is a South African politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2024,representing the Patriotic Alliance,of which he serves as national chairperson.
Daniels is from the Northern Areas of Gqeberha. [1] He was elected to the Nelson Mandela Bay municipal council in 2016 as the Patriotic Alliance won one proportional representation seat. [2]
In August 2017,Daniels was appointed as the member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Public Health by Mayor Athol Trollip. [3] He did not serve in the position for long as the PA announced its withdrawal from the coalition the following month due to a dispute over which party would get the position of deputy mayor. [4] He returned to the mayoral committee in June 2019 after mayor Mongameli Bobani appointed him MMC for economic development,tourism and agriculture. [5] Daniels was not on the PA list for the 2021 municipal elections and left council. [6]
In October 2022,Daniels was sworn in as a councillor of the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality. After his swearing-in,he said that he had apologised to the minister of basic education Angie Motshekga for a second time after he called her a "bitch". [7]
After the resignations of multiple Patriotic Alliance MPs in October 2024,Daniels was sworn in as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa in November 2024. [1]

The 2021 South African Municipal Elections were held on 1 November 2021,to elect councils for all district,metropolitan and local municipalities in each of the country's nine provinces. Being the 6th municipal election held in South Africa since the end of apartheid in 1994. These held - since then -every five years. The previous municipal elections were held in 2016. On 21 April 2021,President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the elections to be held on Wednesday,27 October 2021. It had been recommend by Dikgang Moseneke to delay the municipal elections until 2022. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) requested the Constitutional Court to support the date postponement. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supported the date postponement while the Democratic Alliance (DA) was against the postponement of the date. The Constitutional Court dismissed the application to postpone the date until 2022,ruling that they had to take place between 27 October and 1 November. On 9 September 2021,the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs,Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma announced that the elections would be held on 1 November.
Yoliswa Nomampondomise Yako is a South African politician from the Eastern Cape who served as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. She took office as an MP on 3 September 2018. Before that,Yako was a PR councillor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality and the chairperson of the municipality's Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC). Yako is a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters.
