Martha Ehlin

Martha Elisabeth Ehlin (29 August 1977 – 19 March 2016) was a Swedish sports teacher and founder of the organisation MOD – Mer organdonation.^[1] At the age of thirty she got a cancer diagnosis and was saved by an organ transplant in which she received five new organs. After this incident, Ehlin founded MOD – Mer organdonation together with Peter Carstedt.^[1] At the World Transplant Games 2011, an athletic competition for people with transplants, she won five gold medals when the competitions were held in Gothenburg.^[2]

Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements. While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they can also have other causes. Over 100 types of cancers affect humans.

She became known to the Swedish audience when she hosted an episode of Sommar i P1 at Sveriges Radio on 17 July 2013.^[2] She was awarded the Årets kämpe (Fighter of the year) at the Svenska hjältar (Swedish heroes) gala which was broadcast on TV4 on 20 December 2013.^[3]

Sveriges Radio AB is Sweden's national publicly funded radio broadcaster. Sveriges Radio is a public limited company, owned by an independent foundation, previously funded through a licensing fee, the level of which is decided by the Swedish Riksdag. As of January 1 2019, the funds stem from standard taxation. No advertising is permitted. Its legal status could be described as that of a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organization.

TV4 is a Swedish television network owned and operated by the TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the Bonnier Broadcasting Group. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on the terrestrial network. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. Since 2004 the TV4 Group has been a fully active member of the European Broadcasting Union.

She died of cancer on 19 March 2016.^[1]

From the early 1950s until her death in 2018, she was one of Sweden's best known and popular singers. She represented Sweden in the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest in Cannes with the song "April, april". She was also well-known for the song "Är du kär i mej ännu Klas-Göran?".

Sanna Viktoria Nielsen is a Swedish singer and television presenter. After her seventh attempt, she won Melodifestivalen in 2014 with the song "Undo" and so represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, finishing in 3rd place overall. Sanna was one of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 commentators for Sweden and hosted Melodifestivalen 2015 along with comedian Robin Paulsson. She was announced as the new presenter for the sing-along show Allsång på Skansen for the summer of 2016. She hosted Eurovision The Party at the Tele2 Arena for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

Molly My Marianne Sandén is a Swedish pop singer and voice actress. As a teenager she represented Sweden in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, and participated in Melodifestivalen in 2009, and as a young adult in 2012 and 2016. Her sisters Frida and Mimmi are also singers. In 2018 Sandén released her third studio album which was her debut in Swedish, Större.

Emilia Elisabeth Brodin is a Swedish footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Damallsvenskan team Djurgårdens IF. She competed in Let's Dance during 2009 on TV4, teaming up with professional dancer Tobias Karlsson. Höglund and Karlsson placed fourth in the competition.

Ellen 'Linnea' Petrea Henriksson is a Swedish singer and songwriter who participated in Idol 2010 in which she placed fourth. As of April 2018, she is also the lead singer of the jazz band Prylf. In 2012 Henriksson released her first music album, which she co-wrote and co-produced with singer Orup. During mid-2013 Henriksson toured Sweden with the band Gyllene Tider.
