Martin Elia Lomuro (born 28 December 1957) [1] is a South Sudanese politician. Lomuro is currently the Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the Revitalised Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) as of 2022. [2] He is also the leader of the National Agenda, a registered political party formally known as South Sudan Democratic Forum, SSSDF. [3] [4]
In June 2021 Lomuro's bank accounts with a Kenyan Bank, Cooperative Bank were frozen after he was accused by the Kenya's Assets Recovery Control of an alleged money laundering. [5] But in September of the same year, a court in Nairobi lifted the freeze order after it found Elia was not involved in any form of money laundering. [6]
He told a gathering at the launch of his wife’s clothing fashion brand at the Pyramid hotel in Juba in July that he did not corrupt money to help his wife set up a successful business firm bearing the trademark JENM that designs outfits for only women and children [7] raising public suspicions.
Martin Elia Lomuro was part of a committee [8] that extended South Sudan's transitional government by two years, [9] claiming that the decision was taken "to address the challenges that impede the implementation of the peace agreement".
Lomuro is currently on an international black list after the US imposed sanctions on him in December 2019. He together with the then Minister of Defense Kuol Manyang Juuk were accused by the US government for their role in perpetuating South Sudan's years-long conflict by obstructing the country's stalled peace process. Martin Elia Lomuro served as the minister of Animal Resource and Fisheries in the previous government of Southern Sudan before being appointed as the minister of cabinet affairs by president Salva Kiir [11]
Central Equatoria is a state in South Sudan. With an area of 43,033 square kilometres (16,615 sq mi), it is the smallest of the original South Sudanese states. Its previous name was Bahr al-Jabal, named after a tributary of the White Nile that flows through the state. It was renamed Central Equatoria in the first Interim Legislative Assembly on 1 April 2005 under the government of Southern Sudan. Central Equatoria seceded from Sudan as part of the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 2011. The state's capital, Juba, is also the national capital of South Sudan. On October 2, 2015, the state was split into three states: Jubek, Terekeka, and Yei River. The state of Central Equatoria was re-established by a peace agreement signed on 22 February 2020.
Salva Kiir Mayardit, also known as Salva Kiir, is a South Sudanese politician who has been the President of South Sudan since its independence on 9 July 2011. Prior to independence, he was the President of the Government of Southern Sudan, as well as First Vice President of Sudan, from 2005 to 2011. He was named Commander-in-Chief of the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) in 2005, following the death of John Garang.
Dr.Lam Akol Ajawin, is a South Sudanese politician of Shilluk descent. He is the current leader of National Democratic Movement (NDM) party. He is a former high-ranking official in the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), and subsequently became the Foreign Minister of Sudan from September 2005 to October 2007, when the Khartoum government offered the SPLA several other key ministries as part of a peace agreement.

She founded the Sudan women Parliamentary Caucus in 2004 at the start of the comprehensive peace agreement. She was chosen by the SPLM as the speaker of the Revitalised Transitional National Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA). She became the first woman to preside over the parliament of South Sudan.

He is a proven professional and held various cabinet positions in the Government of the Republic of South Sudan. He is a senior member of Sudan’s People Liberation Movement (SPLM) and had served in various cabinet positions. Stephen Dhieu Dau was the Minister of Finance and Planning until March 2018 in the RSS. He served as Minister of Petroleum and Mining and Minister of Commerce and Industry. Stephen Dhieu Dau is from Melut County, Upper Nile State, and belongs to the Nyiel section of the Padang Dinka ethnic group. In October 2022, President Salva Kiir appointed Stephen Dhieu Dau as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Revenue Authority. In December 2022, He was appointed as a member of the SPLM Political Bureau.
The Ministry of Finance and Planning is a ministry of the Government of South Sudan. This ministry was first headed by Honourable David Deng Athorbie after the country gained her independence from Sudan in 2011.
The South Sudanese Civil War was a multi-sided civil war in South Sudan between forces of the government and opposition forces. In December 2013, President Kiir accused his former deputy Riek Machar and 10 others of attempting a coup d'état. Machar denied trying to start a coup and fled to lead the SPLM – in opposition (SPLM-IO). Fighting broke out between the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and SPLM-IO, igniting the civil war. Ugandan troops were deployed to fight alongside the South Sudanese government. The United Nations has peacekeepers in the country as part of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Corruption in South Sudan is among the worst in the world. The nation's elites have developed a kleptocratic system that controls every part of the South Sudanese economy. This system has taken shape quickly in a relatively short period, South Sudan having won self-rule in 2005 while remaining part of Sudan, and having been accorded full sovereignty in 2011.
Rebecca Joshua Okwaci is a South Sudanese politician, and a member of Parliament and the Chief Whip of the Ruling SPLM Party in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly as of 2022. She was the former Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services and also the former minister of Roads and Bridges in the Government of the Republic of South Sudan. She is a "prolific peace campaigner and advocate of women's roles in peace", and she is a founder member of several Sudanese, South Sudanese or pan-African women's organisations, including being the Secretary-General of Women Action for Development. In December 2013, Jess Mathias of The Guardian described her to be an ideal role model for young girls over traditionally idolised women such as Rihanna and Beyoncé.
