Martin Quinn is a Scottish actor and voice actor.

Early life

Quinn was born in the Gallowhill area of Paisley in 1994. [1] [2] He has two brothers called Andrew and Peter, and is the middle child. [3] He began attending Drama schools at the age of six. [1] He trained at PACE Youth Theatre and the Spires Theatre School, [2] and was also a member of Scottish Youth Theatre.

Gallowhill is a housing estate in the north east of Paisley, a town in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Its approximate boundaries are formed by the M8 motorway to the north, the A741 Renfrew Rd to the west, to the south the Inverclyde railway line with Arkleston Farm making up the estate's eastern border. The most common types of housing are cottage flats and two storey tenements, although there are some three storey units and terraced housing in addition to two tower blocks.

Paisley is a town situated in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. Located on the northern edge of the Gleniffer Braes, the town borders the city of Glasgow to the east, and straddles the banks of the White Cart Water, a tributary of the River Clyde.

PACE Theatre Company is a registered charity and non-profit making theatre company based in Paisley, Scotland. Formed in 1988 by David Wallace, PACE has four main components: a professional theatre production and Theatre-in-education (TIE) company; PACE Youth Theatre, PACE Casting, a casting agency which represents Youth Theatre members; and PACE Media Productions, a media production company specialising in educational and dramatic video productions. In September 2017, Wallace was sacked from the company after a financial investigation. His wife Mhairi Wallace was suspended on full pay. On the 23rd of February 2018 Jenni Mason was appointed to Artistic Director with Grant Mason as Chief Executive. On the 8th of August 2018 PACE changed their Branding followed by a total Revamp of their Youth Theatre classes.

Career

In 2013, he won the lead role of Oskar in the Scottish stage adaptation of Let The Right One In , which was performed in Dundee, [2] and in which he starred alongside Lorraine McIntosh of Deacon Blue and Ewan Stewart, [2] [4] and in London's Royal Court Theatre in December 2013. [4] The show was transferred to the Apollo Theatre in the West End of London in 2014, with Quinn reprising the lead role. [5] [6]

<i>Let the Right One In</i> (novel) book

Let the Right One In is a 2004 vampire fiction novel by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist. The story centers on the relationship between a 12-year-old boy, Oskar, and a centuries-old vampire child, Eli. It takes place in Blackeberg, a working-class suburb of Stockholm, in the early 1980s. The book focuses on the darker side of humanity, dealing with thematically heavy issues such as existential anxiety, social isolation, fatherlessness, divorce, alcoholism, school bullying, pedophilia, genital mutilation, self-mutilation, and murder.

Lorraine McIntosh is a Scottish singer best known as a vocalist with Scottish band Deacon Blue. She has also achieved success as an actress, starring in River City and appearing in Taggart among her most notable roles in television.
