Martti Elias Huhtala (born 12 November 1918 in Rovaniemi, Finland - 25 October 2005 in Rovaniemi) was a Finnish Nordic combined athletes who competed in the late 1940s. He won a silver medal at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz in the Nordic combined Individual.

Hannu Kalevi Manninen is a Finnish nordic combined athlete. Debuting at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer at the age of 15, he took his first medal three years later at the age of 18 when he won silver in the 4 × 5 km team event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. At the 2002 Winter Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 5 km team event at the age of 23. He has five other Nordic skiing World Championships medals, earning three golds and two bronzes. He has two other Olympic team medals as well.

Jukka Ylipulli is a Finnish former nordic combined skier who competed during the 1980s and early 1990s. He won a bronze medal in the individual Nordic combined at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

Tapio Nurmela is a Finnish nordic combined athlete who competed during the 1990s. He won a silver medal in the 4 x 5 km team event at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. Nurmela also won two medals in the 4 x 5 km team event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with a gold in 1999 and a silver in 1997.

Väinö Veikko Sakari Huhtala was a Finnish former cross-country skier who competed in the early 1960s. He won two medals in the 4 × 10 km relay at the Winter Olympics with a gold in 1960 and a silver in 1964. Huhtala also finished fourth in the 15 km event at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck.

Pirjo Muranen is a retired Finnish cross-country skier. She won a bronze medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Muranen won five medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with three golds, a silver, and a bronze. She married on 30 June 2007; previously known by her maiden name of Pirjo Manninen.

Ensio Hyytiä was a Finnish ski jumper who competed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He won the ski jumping silver medal at the 1958 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti. He was born in Rovaniemi. He also competed at the 1960 Winter Olympics and the 1964 Winter Olympics.

Raimo Ylipulli is a Finnish former ski jumper who competed from 1986 to 1994. He won a silver medal in the team large hill at the 1991 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme and finished 20th in the individual large hill at those same championships.

Ildar Garifullin was a Russian nordic combined skier who competed for the Soviet Union in the early 1980s. He won a bronze medal in the 3 × 10 km team event at the 1984 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Rovaniemi. Garifullin's best individual finish was 5th in West Germany in 1984.

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1984 for teams in Ski jumping and Nordic combined took place in Engelberg, Switzerland and Rovaniemi, Finland. These were extraordinary events because both were not held at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

Janne Pekka Ryynänen is a Finnish Nordic combined athlete who has been competing since 2003. His ski club is Ounasvaaran hiihtoseura. One of his greatest achievements include a gold medal from 4 x 5 km team competition at Sapporo 2007, where he had the longest jump of the Finnish team. Ryynänen best individual finish was fourth in the 10 km individual large hill event at Liberec in 2009.
