Martin Ramsay McKenzie (born 14 August 1992) is a Rugby union footballer who plays as either a Fly-half or Fullback. He represents the Southland Stags [1] [2] in the Mitre 10 Cup. He currently plays for the Chiefs in super rugby.
McKenzie was a member of the New Zealand under 20 side that competed in the 2012 IRB Junior World Championship in South Africa. [3]
McKenzie is the cousin of former Stags teammate Robbie Robinson and also brother of Chiefs First-five Damian McKenzie
In March 2014 Mckenzie was called up to play for the New Zealand Sevens team. [4]
McKenzie is a New Zealander of Māori descent (Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent). [5]

Ngāti Porou is a Māori iwi traditionally located in the East Cape and Gisborne regions of the North Island of New Zealand. Ngāti Porou is affiliated with the 28th Maori Battalion, it also has the second-largest affiliation of any iwi, behind Ngāpuhi with an estimated 92,349 people according to the 2018 census. The traditional rohe or tribal area of Ngāti Porou extends from Pōtikirua and Lottin Point in the north to Te Toka-a-Taiau in the south. The Ngāti Porou iwi also comprises 58 hapū (sub-tribes) and 48 mārae.

Messam predominantly plays as a blindside flanker but can fill in at Number 8 as well as openside flanker.
