Marvin Gauci is a chef and restaurateur from Malta. [1] He also serves as the chief chef of the Dinner in the Sky in Malta. [2] Gauci is the Ambassador of Gastronomy, serving as an official representative in foreign and domestic affairs for Malta. [3]

Biography

After completing secondary school, Gauci started his formal education at the Institute for Tourism Studies. [4] In 1997, he traveled to Ireland to pursue his career where he worked first 6 months in a catering service before joining the Buswells Hotel which is a Georgian hotel that dates back to 1882 and is located next to the Dáil in Dublin, Ireland. [5] [6]

Later he came back to Malta where he opened his first restaurant, Wild Thyme in Xemxija. [7] Then he started operating four of Malta’s most successful eateries. In 2007 he launched Tarragon in St Paul's Bay followed by Caviar & Bull in 2014 that is located in Saint Julian's and Buddhamann in 2015 which was later closed and replaced with a new restaurant named Sussurus. [8]

In 2016, Marvin joined the Dinner in the Sky as a chef in Malta [9] which is a novelty restaurant service that uses a crane to hoist its diners, table, and waiting staff 150 feet (46 m) into the air[ citation needed ] and has been named as one of the world's ten most unusual restaurants by the Forbes magazine. [10] In the following year he joined the historic hotel, Corinthia Hotel Budapest. [11]

He has collaborated with chef Ferran Adrià and worked in Hakkasan, Skylon, Santini and Novikov up-market restaurants in central London and cooked in different restaurants in Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Austria and the UK. [12] He was the chief chef for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018. [13]

In 2018, Marvin was awarded the Best Chef of the Year by the Best of Budapest and Hungary Awards organization. [14] [15]

El Bulli Restaurant in Roses, Spain

El Bulli was a restaurant near the town of Roses, Catalonia, Spain, run by chef Ferran Adrià and driven by the culinary ideas of Albert Adrià. The restaurant overlooked Cala Montjoi, a bay on Catalonia's Costa Brava. It held three Michelin stars and was described in UK newspaper The Guardian as "the most imaginative generator of haute cuisine on the planet". The restaurant was also associated with molecular gastronomy.

Angela Maria Hartnett is an English Michelin-starred chef. Jason Atherton is an English chef and restaurateur. His flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social gained a Michelin Star in 2011, its opening year. He was the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay's Michelin starred Maze in London until 30 April 2010. In 2014 he co-hosted the Sky Living TV series My Kitchen Rules.

Gilles Epié French chef

Gilles Epié is a leading French chef. He was the youngest chef to receive the Michelin Star when he was 22 years old. He was the owner and Executive Chef of Citrus Etoile restaurant in Paris near the Champs-Elysées with his wife, Elizabeth Epié from 2005 to 2017. Currently, he is the Executive Chef at Turtle Bay Resort, a 5-star luxury hotel in Oahu, Hawaii.

Yannick Alléno French chef

Yannick Alléno is a French chef who operates the restaurants Pavillon Ledoyen and L'Abysse in Paris and Le 1947 in Courchevel. He has been awarded six Michelin stars in his career.

The World Gourmet Summit is an annual culinary event held annually in Singapore, which started in 1997. Its objective is to showcase dining in Singapore and promote local chefs while featuring Michelin-starred chefs and vintners from around the world. It is organised by A La Carte Productions, a division of Peter Knipp Holdings Pte Ltd, and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Stefan Matz is a German head chef of Ashford Castle and The g Hotel. He was, together with his brother, owner of the Michelin starred restaurant and hotel Erriseask House in Ballyconneely in County Galway, Ireland.

Daniel Clifford (chef) British chef

Daniel Clifford is an English chef who is best known for his work at the two Michelin star restaurant Midsummer House. He was also named one of the winners of the 2012 and 2013 series of the BBC television show the Great British Menu. He was chef patron of a gastro pub in Little Dunmow, Essex, named The Flitch of Bacon.

Eamonn O'Reilly (1971) is an Irish chef and restaurateur. His Dublin restaurants The Greenhouse and One Pico have won numerous accolades including a coveted Michelin Star and O'Reilly himself has won "Chef of the Year Award" for 2006 from the Restaurants Association of Ireland, and "Chef of the Year Award" for 2010 from Georgina Campbell Guide.

Note by Note cuisine is a style of cooking based on molecular gastronomy, created by Hervé This. Dishes are made using pure compounds instead of using animal or plant tissues. Hervé This said the cuisine is like "a painter using primary colours, or a musician composing electroacoustic music, wave by wave, using a computer".

Daniel Galmiche French chef

Daniel Galmiche is a French chef. He has been a Michelin Starred chef since 1990. His light and colorful cooking is permeated with north–south mixtures thanks to his European and Asiatic career. According to him, cooking is done with eco-friendly and healthy products, it needs to be shared. He has written in magazines and English newspapers, published books and hosted cooking shows on the BBC.

The Restaurant Marco Pierre White, also known as The Restaurant, Restaurant Marco Pierre White and later Oak Room Marco Pierre White, was a restaurant run by chef proprietor Marco Pierre White. The restaurant was opened at the Hyde Park Hotel, London, on 14 September 1993. Following the move, the kitchen staff was more than doubled in number, and White used Pierre Koffmann's La Tante Claire as a template to pursue his third star. This was awarded in the 1995 Michelin guide. White then moved the restaurant to the Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel, London, in 1997, taking on the listed Oak Room as the main dining room. He sought a further rating of five red forks and spoons in the guide, to gain the highest possible rating for the restaurant. It gained this award in the following guide.

Vineet Bhatia Indian chef, restaurateur, author (born 1967)

Vineet Bhatia is an Indian chef, restaurateur, author, and media personality. He was the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star. He opened two Rasoi restaurants, the first in Chelsea, London in 2004, and the second in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2008. Both restaurants received Michelin stars in 2006 and 2009 respectively, making Bhatia the first and only Indian chef to receive two Michelin stars. Currently, he has eleven restaurants, including his signature restaurant "KAMA by Vineet" in the dining hall in Harrods in London, and appears as a judge on Netflix show The Final Table and judge-host on MasterChef India. He has written two cookbooks, Rasoi: New Indian Kitchen and My Sweet Kitchen.
