Ray Milton Dolby was an American engineer and inventor of the noise reduction system known as Dolby NR. He helped develop the video tape recorder while at Ampex and was the founder of Dolby Laboratories.
William Gazecki is an American film director and former sound mixer best known for his documentary Waco: The Rules of Engagement (1997), which earned a News & Documentary Emmy Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. With her nomination for the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing, she and her sound editing partner for the film Mildred Iatrou Morgan became the first female team to be nominated in the category.

She has a BAFTA Award for House of the Dragon ; and a total of fourteen Emmy nominations: one for Rings of Power, one for House of the Dragon, one for 3 Body Problem, six for Game of Thrones, three for Lost, one for The River, and one for the series Lovecraft Country. In May 2021, she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from her alma mater, NSCAD University. She also has 5 golden reel awards and 18 nominations for her work from the Motion Picture Sound Editors guild.
