The Mary Library is a regional district library located in Mary, Turkmenistan. It is the largest regional library in the Mary District. [1]

History

Construction of the library began in February 2010. The library building was constructed by the Turkish company Sedaş Inşaat [2] in the immediate vicinity of the Palace Ruhyet as well as the head of the mosque of the Mary District. The cost of the building was $36.4 million. [3] The library officially opened on October 20, 2011 and the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held the official opening ceremony. Building

The building has a spherical shape, and is supported by 62 columns. The height of the library is 42 meters. The three-story building is designed for the storage of three million books, [5] and can manage 600 concurrent readers. The library's collection includes a book shop, nine reading rooms, internet facilities, a separate reading room for elders, an office of special departments, conference rooms, and a children's room. Under the dome of the library, which is in the form of tulip petals, is a telescope.

Turkmen military academies

The Armed Forces of Turkmenistan currently funds 2 high ranking educational institutions: The Military Academy of Turkmenistan and the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. Aside from those two schools, there are several military schools around the country, specializing in the training of personnel of a branches of service. In the early 1990s when the armed forces were rapidly being developed, many officers were trained in the Russian Federation's Ministry of Defense, while at least 300 officers were sent to schools in Turkey. On 3 October 1992, the Turkmen State University created the first Turkmen educational department. Atamyrat Niyazov Turkmen soldier

Atamyrat Niyazov was a soldier in the Red Army during World War II from the Soviet Republic of Turkmenistan who was the father of the first post-Soviet President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov. He was also a school teacher and a financial officer.

Ata Oveznepesovich Serdarov or Ata Öweznepesowiç Serdarow is a Turkmen physician, diplomat, and politician. From 2018, he is serving as the leader of politically dominant Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.
