Mary A. Soderberg is the former Pennsylvania Secretary of the Budget. [1] She was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell in 2008 and served until the end of his term in January 2011. [2] [3]
She was named to the PoliticsPA list of "Pennsylvania's Smartest Staffers and Operatives." [4] The Pennsylvania Report named her to the 2009 "The Pennsylvania Report 100" list of influential figures in Pennsylvania politics. [5]
In 2014,she was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf as chair of the Budget Task Force. [6] In 2015,she joined the governor's Task Force on Municipal Pensions. [7]
H. William DeWeese is an American politician who is a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. A member of the Democratic Party,DeWeese served as the 135th Speaker of the Pennsylvania House from 1993 to 1994. After five years of investigation by Republican State Attorney General Tom Corbett,he was indicted in December 2009 on six charges of conflict of interest,theft and criminal conspiracy on accusations that two members of his staff used state resources to campaign for political office. The trial began January 23,2010. He was re-elected in 2010 despite the charges,but was convicted of five of the six felony charges on February 6,2012.

The 2018 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election took place on November 6,2018,to elect the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania,concurrently with the election of Pennsylvania's Class I U.S. Senate seat,as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various local elections. Incumbent Democratic Governor Tom Wolf won re-election to a second term by a double-digit margin,defeating Republican challenger Scott Wagner and two third-party candidates from the Green Party,Paul Glover and Libertarian Party,Ken Krawchuk. The primary elections were held on May 15. This was the first time since Bob Casey Jr.'s landslide State Treasurer win in 2004 that Cumberland County voted for the Democrat in a statewide election.
