Maryan/Marian Ahmed Ali (Somali :Maryan Axmed Cali) is a politician from Puntland,who is a former Minister of Women's Development and Family Affairs (MOWDAFA). She served in the cabinet of former president Abdiweli Gaas. [1] During her term she spoke out against gender-based violence,in particular in relation to maternal and infant mortality. [2] It was also under her tenure that the Puntland Forensic Laboratory opened,with the explicit brief of supporting law enforcers to prosecute more rapists. [3]
In December 2018 she launched the Puntland Action Plan for Children. [4] In the same month she launched Puntland's inaugural participation in the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. [5] [6] As a result of the 2019 elections,she was succeeded in post by Amina Hajji Osman. [7] Subsequently she ran for election as Chief of the Puntland Human Rights Office,but lost to Mar Said Mumin. [8]

Ahmed Mohamed Gurase is a Somali politician. From January 2014 to January 2015,he served as the Minister of Education of Somalia. Ahmed Mohamed Gurase succeeded Maryam Qaasim when her post as Minister for Human Development and Public Services ended on 17 January 2014. The Ministry was split to allow the creation of 6 cabinet positions one of which was the Ministry of Education. Ahmed Abdi Mohamud Sugulle "Habsade" is a Puntland and Somaliland politician. He was a decorated Colonel in the Somali Armed Forces and the second in command of the Somali Custodial Corps equivalent to that of the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri but the Custodial Corps fall under the Ministry of the Interior and are part of the Police Force. A politician and respected elder later in life (he was instrumental in the founding of Somaliland and became the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives. In 1998,he was appointed Minister of the Interior of Puntland but was dismissed in 2007 after a conflict with Mohamud Muse Hersi,who became President of Puntland in 2006. In 2007,he brought Somaliland troops into Las Anod,leading to Somaliland's effective control of the Sool region. He served as various Somaliland Ministers of state from 2008. In 2014,Abdiweli Gaas became President of Puntland and he come back to Puntland.

Later he was the first Director of the Puntland TV and Radio which was established in 2013,and held that position since 2014. He was succeeded by Abdul Fatah Nur Ashkir,Kismayo died in Hyderabad,India,in 2017.
