The Union Cycliste Internationale is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland.
Leontien Martha Henrica Petronella Zijlaard-van Moorsel is a Dutch retired racing cyclist. She was a dominant cyclist in the 1990s and early 2000s, winning four gold medals at the Olympic Games and holding the hour record for women from 2003 until 2015.

Jeannie Longo is a French racing cyclist, 25-time French champion and 13-time world champion. Longo began racing in 1975 and was active in cycling through 2012. She was once widely considered the best female cyclist of all time, although that reputation is now clouded by suspicion of doping throughout her career. She is famous for her competitive nature and her longevity in a sport where some of her competitors were not yet born during her first Olympic competition in 1984. She was selected to compete for France in the 2008 Olympics, her seventh Olympic Games. She had stated that this would be her final participation in the Olympics. In the Women's road race, she finished 24th, 33 seconds behind winner Nicole Cooke, who was one year old when Longo first rode in the Olympics. At the same Olympics, she finished 4th in the road time trial, just two seconds shy of securing a bronze medal. She is currently number two on the all-time list of French female summer or winter Olympic medal winners, with a total of four medals, which is one less than the total number won by the fencer Laura Flessel-Colovic.
Sir Bradley Marc Wiggins, CBE is a British former professional road and track racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2001 and 2016. Nicknamed "Wiggo", he began his cycling career on the track, but made the transition to road cycling and is one of the few cyclists in the modern era to gain significant elite level success in both those forms of professional cycling. In a career, notable for its breadth and diversity in terms of elite achievement, he won world titles in four disciplines, and Olympic gold in three. He is the only rider to have won both World and Olympic championships on both the track and the road, as well as winning the Tour de France, and holding the iconic track hour record. In addition, he has worn the leader's jersey in each of the three Grand Tours of cycling and held the world record in team pursuit on multiple occasions. He has won a gold medal at 4 successive Olympic Games from 2004 – 2016, and as of 2020 held the record as Great Britain's most decorated Olympian with 8 medals. He is the only rider to win the Tour de France and Olympic Gold in the same year, winning them a week apart in 2012.
Shane John Kelly OAM is a former professional Australian track racing cyclist. Kelly specialized in the men's 1000 m time trial, commonly known as the Kilo. Kelly announced his retirement from international competition at the end of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Kelly is now working in motivational speaking, team building, and cycling fitness and training programs.
The UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's sprint is the world championship sprint event held annually at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Between its inception and 1992, the sprint was separated into two events; one for professionals and one for amateurs. From 1993, all competitors competed in one open event. It was first held at the 1895 championships, two years after the first amateur sprint world championship. As of 2020, Koichi Nakano from Japan has won the most titles with ten consecutive professional wins between 1977 and 1986.

Elena Tchalykh is a Russian professional racing cyclist who competed from 2011 on for Azerbaijan. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's road race and in the Women's time trial.

Steven James Burke, is an English track and road cyclist, who rides for the Team Wiggins Le Col cycling team. He represented Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics, beating his pre Olympics personal best in the individual pursuit by eleven seconds, to take the bronze medal. He stood on the podium alongside his cycling idol, gold medalist Bradley Wiggins.
Samuel Ryan Bewley is a New Zealand racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Mitchelton–Scott. Bewley has also competed for UCI ProTeam Team RadioShack, as well as the BikeNZ PureBlack Racing team.
The UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships are a set of world championship events for junior riders, for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling and are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). In the period 2005–2009 the championships were part of the UCI Juniors World Championships.

She is the first person in history to medal at every endurance track event at world championship level; with three newly gained medals in the team pursuit, omnium, and madison at 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Hong Kong.
Lasse Norman Hansen is a Danish professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Alpecin–Fenix. He turned professional in 2014.
Scott Matthew McPhee, is an Australian cyclist, who piloted Kieran Modra in tandem cycling. He won a gold medal with Modra at the 2012 London Paralympics.
Elena Cecchini is an Italian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM. She competed in the 2013 UCI women's team time trial in Florence. In 2013 and 2014, she rode for the Estado de México–Faren Kuota team. In November 2015 she was announced as part of the Canyon–SRAM team's inaugural squad for the 2016 season. Cecchini is an athlete of Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Azzurre.
Matthijs Büchli is a Dutch track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Track Team BEAT Cycling Club.
